Anyone heard from Air Wisconsin yet?

I have not. Which is why I wonder after hearing everyone else saying they have heard something. Or, my stuff got lost.

I got a thanks but not thanks and I think I applied about 2 years ago, they're flushing out the system probably. Hang on tight, you might have a chance by next year.

Yeah thats what some people are saying as well. But I haven't heard of anyone being called for an interview yet, so maybe in 25 years i'll get a call for a baggage handler job interview.

Still 14 or so on furlough. I don't see them interviewing till they recall the last batch. That will take a month or two. Plus nothing happens in Appleton during December, nothing.

3000 hours in type of which over 1000 is PIC at another regional and 2 type ratings. I am not qualified according to the email I recieved.

Quite possibly because you have an NJA seniority number. I've heard that none of us have had any luck at Air Wis (I DON'T speak from experience on this one, didn't apply). Could also be that no one is getting anywhere yet since they still have pilots on the street. Who knows, time is gonna tell on this one.

Given how many ex-regional guys there are at NJA I'd hate to think we're gonna get the stink eye from a regional that might be hiring right now.

Not that'd it be fair...BUT:

AWAC management is smart enough to know that a furloughed NJA pilot will bolt just as soon as they can, because AWAC (any regional for that matter) cannot come close to matching the compensation and benefits that NJA offers.

Besides, during 2006-2007 I personally observed a trend that they preferred pilots with low to mid-time and no ATP/type ratings because of the odds they'd stick around a fair amount of time (which included me when I was hired).

Best of luck finding work...I know at least 3 NJA'ers myself on the streets in a couple weeks.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Not that it might help much in most places, but I think the only way any of us will find our way back into many airlines will take some outside pressure. Our hiring dept gave anyone with the mins a fair chance at a job with NJA (save for the last few months of hiring). Would be nice if we get the same fair shot.

Then again this could all be premature meaningless banter and these guys have been shot down for other reasons. Personally I'd hope that all the AWAC furloughees are in class before any of us NJA types got an interview.

And that is why no one has be invited for an interview, yet.

It's a tough market out there right now. More so than when I was looking for a job, post 9/11. But keep the faith, and call in all favor's from past coworkers. I used to swing gear for a 'gent who is now "hoping to swing gear for me"...some 8 years later.

Why do people want to break down the doors to work here? We have no future after 2015 when our agreement with US Air runs out.
Also this past weekend, amidst the snowstorm, many of us could not get to work and we were forced to talk to a flight manager who yelled at us, called us unprofessional and we were given no shows. I live 30 minutes from PHL and could not get there due to the snowstorm last Saturday. I was told I should have gotten a hotel near the airport.
When pilots call in sick or fatigued or refuse a junior manning assignment management threatens us with discipline.
Our REPS have been on the phone non-stop, but are getting no where as management wants to bully us.
Our maintnance stinks as our planes are breaking like an epidemic. Even one of our REPS is out due to a pressurization problem damaging one of his ears.
DO you really want to work in an enviroment like this?

It's quite simple. People love to fly. I'm not sure why we don't recognize that. People will do anything for a flying job. All the regionals are "********************ty" in regards to management, 'no future', etc.

The "Do I have a future campaign" for Air Wisconsin should have been applied to the entire industry.
