What I don't understand is why everyone in the DAL Connection family thinks their flying and aircraft will be swapped out with something different. i.e. "what planes are we gonna get to replace the ____ that we're losing..." DAL is ELIMINATING regional capacity. Not maintaining it and certainly not growing it. You guys all heard 'em at the 3rd Quarter call - 100 50-seaters and all turboprops GONE. For Mesaba, that's all the 49 Saabs, and possibly 17 -200s. Huge damage to our ranks and a move that will bring us up to 11-12 year FO's... Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but take a look at your DAL Connection airline and try and figure out where YOU will stand.

MM

I think the tide will turn... Whenever the negotiations start up for a new contract at mainline, RA and DS will start hosing them just as much as they possibly can-and DCI carriers will pick up a hell of a lot more flying.

-Don't be fooled by these weasels-DS and RAain't your pals, either.

its not a wrap for mesa, something will happen to keep them around and hey guys I know Mesa sucks, but lets think about the pilots involved here, that would be a lot of guys who would join the unemployed ranks. Maybe Skywest will buy them to get into the USair network.

Some I have pity for. Other, not so much. All those starry eyed guys with upgrade and mainline on their minds willing to take in the keister for what they knew to be subpar pay and rules, deserve what they get. Other, like Pdub, were completely ignorant to this. Many remember his Freedum sig line how proud he was. NO CLUE. But hey, for his type as well, don't do the research, pay the price.

screw mesa they're done. What will this mean for ASA? Will we get the remainder of the CRJ200s? Will this also mean future CRJ700 flying?

How everyone but ASA reads it:
What it means is...ASA will pick up some UAL flying because DAL will get rid of some ASA 200's......

How the ASAholes read it:
We have a far superior product and are soooooo great....everyone wants to hire us.

Igits.

What it means, is you are just one step closer to a furlough, with SKYW buying more flying, your job is on the line, and I welcome you being put on the street and returning to your old occupation as a dog fluffer.
PBR
For the record, you work(on your knees) at Gheyjhets not ASA.

They are estimating the furlough will take us down to around seniority number 860. That is down from a high of over 1500 if I remember correctly.

That includes the Dash 8 and CRJ 200 reductions. It's going to be interesting to see how we can avoid Chapter 11 with all those aircraft sitting in the desert with the meters still running.

Good luck to us all.
