Seems like they're doing a little hiring. Anyone have any inside scoop on the operation? What sort of experience would be competitive etc?
 
Wow, nothing at all? I can;t decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
 
I hear they are ok to work for. The biggest problem is they are not commuter friendly. You pretty much have to live in the FLL area to have any sort of QOL.
Wish I could tell you more but the little intel I have comes secondhand
 
I was hired in 2005 but decided to go with my current corporate job. I was one of the last to be offered a job without having to pay for the type. As I understand things now, you have to go to Aero Service in MIA and buy the type. If that has changed I sure would like to know.

Something about a 3-year training contract screams, "run far-far away."
 
I've been there for a little over 3 years and I have to say that they have treated me good so far. There is a $18000 3 years training contract, meaning you have to pay a pro-rated amount if you leave before the 3 years. The flying experience is like no other and the pilot group is outstanding. Let me know if you want more information.
 
I was there a short time, I can tell you that they have no legal basis to enforce that "training contract". I never paid a cent, btw they only go after the suckers willing to pay. they never want it to go to court due to the fact that it is an illegal concept, and they would then subject themselves to a class action by all of those who did actually pay. Remember, federal labor law does not allow companies to charge employees for training received that is required for them to perform their job. If they offered college courses and had a training contract and these courses were outside of your normal job description, then yes you do have an obligation to pay it back.
This dead horse has been beaten thoroughly, why do people still ask about illegal training contracts? This is the only industry that has so many suckers willing to pay to work. BTW, Miami Air, is what it is, 36th Street, Miami. Take it for what its worth.

That's the feeling I get, too, I'm just trying to get some more info before I apply.
 
Where are you seeing that they're hiring? I know APC says they are, but the company web site says otherwise. Did I miss the boat on the one?
 
I did a brief stent there. It is a good company if you live in MIA and can afford to work for nothing. They treat you well but don't pay you much. Good pilot group. Training is a nightmare. Good time builder if you can live on the pay. Great experience with 180 min ETOPS.

To put things in perspective, training contracts are not unusual in the supplemental world. World Airways has a $48K 2-yr contract which takes effective the day of your MD11 checkride. They enforce it without exception.

A. I didn't sign anything. The only reason that you're not anonymous is because you stole an airplane and your anonymity is not your choice. See? I didn't commit a felony so I have the privilege of anonymity. BTW; I don't reveal my identity to sociopaths.
