Buddy of mine from another airline, was chatting with me this am.

As an FO for a few years, and not his first airline, he was concerned about a few pilots he has flown with recently that seem timid about deviations around tx, to the point of books flying and full power and not getting out of 4000 fpm downdrafts.

What is with this macho refusal to take what is necessary on deviations to stay out of the red?

Only pu$$ies stay away from the red. Real men fly on through and have the FO hold onto the wings once they separate from the fuselage. BTW, my pecker hangs lower than yours.

Don't be late, penetrate.

I dont know why but reading that made me want to knock myself out with my desk.

Saying "ten left for WX" was one of the things that made flying 121 fun for me.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't describe it as macho. The word 'stupid' comes to mind.

...he was concerned about a few pilots he has flown with recently that seem timid about deviations around tx...
As a native Texan, I take offense to anyone that feels the need to deviate around my fine home state. To each their own, I guess...enjoy wasting all that fuel just to clear our airspace.
