ASA early out numbers?

Anyone have any info on how many pilots (if any) will be taking the early out/retirement package being offered?

3-4? Would be surprised if it's any more. Long term coma's is another story, but apparently they are not taking those into account for displacement mitigation. Don't see why not

Yeah, 30 weeks of severence pay wasn't enough to get many people to bite. That only works out to about $75k for the most senior pilots. Considering we don't have anyone retiring for 3 more years they stand to lose quite a bit by leaving early.

Hearing about 3-4 taking the early retirement. 36K for 20 years nowhere near enough for me. Maybe more like 200K would do it! Rightttttttttttttt!

5 months of pay for doing no work is a great deal, particulary for guys near 60. These guys can draw on 401k at that age. I have heard 6 or 7 have requested forms. Not everyone lives check to check. I suspect may of these older ASA pilots are financially secure and are ready to get the flock out...

CT told me his paper work is in along with 4 other pilots. M McClain said that no one had submitted paper work to the CPO as of yesterday. We'll see. I figured Capt CT would know what he did. They can change their minds until the 14th.

2 pilots have already submitted paper work. That is why everyone moved up on the award projection today. I suspect 10 or more will take the offer. ASA pilots are very fortunate to have such an offer in this stagnant economy. I know of no other regionals offering any type of early retirement incentive. Some of these older guys have marginal health, or other lifestyle considerations. They have been dreaming of fly fishing or ranching for the past 10 years. They can't wait to get away from whiny, self centered, hair gel pilots, whose mommies pack them peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for their 4 day trips. By way, who the hell is M. McMclain?

Fortunate? They aren't doing it for OUR good. They're doing it because any idiot knows that it's cheaper to pay these guys 3 months pay than another 100K a year for the next 5 years. Any flying they would have done would be replaced by underblock reserves so the company would be winning big.
