Being a commuter on reserve, I am thoroughly looking forward to holding a decent line with days off and none of the BS I've had to put up with on reserve for the last 2 years. You boys can have it. Nothing quite like sitting around the crashpad and arpt for days on end with nothing to do. Pay looks like it's going to be marginally less as a high time fo than it would be as a capt on reserve anyway. Ooooooh, can you say "christmas off!"

To all those getting furloughed, my thoughts and sympathies.

Yes, when I compared my paycheck with senior FOs they often made more money than me. Then, they would chuckle, grab their flight bag, and say goodbye as I was placed on hold for 10 minutes by scheduling. I just regret that so many pilots are furloughed now...

Believe it or not a downgrade and displacment means a lot to some of us. I use the money from the displacement / downgrade to put down on my first house. I get to see my family a lot more. I got to be there for my son's first steps and his first b-day. The company paid me to move and i move where i wanted. The pay cut sucks but i rather take the pay cut and have what i have now.

You guys couldn't be more right and life is only going to get better. Weekends, holidays, and control of our schedules. When we took this upgrade the economy was booming and we were suppose to be off reserve in no time. That was the entire reason I took it so early. My wife was thrilled except for the money issue but hell we did it before on FO pay and we'll do it again. Not only that we'll see each other again. I feel for the junior CP's who will be sitting 4am reserve with no control, good luck guys because I'll be one of those FO's smiling as I ride the bus home and the rest are told "we need you to call us back in an hour". As for the furloughed, God bless and good luck.

I don't know about you, but $2100 less per pay check is no chump change! Even at 100 hrs. in a pay period, I still lost 1000.00 as a FO. (CA at 75 hrs.).
P.S. Lines in the fall will at 75 hrs. Good luck all!

That was your problem right there. I never expected that.

We might be lucky to have 75 hour lines. Who knows what might happen to our MMG?

Could get even uglier.
