I couldn't agree more. I take the atis, compute the approach speed, and do whatever it takes. At the same time, I don't sit around typing on my keyboard poking fun of guys who are predisposed to ask for a wind check. Nor do I come on here and poke fun of the countless times regional pilots miss calls in ATL. Frankly, they are as big of tools as they think the "wind check" guys are. In fact, they are bigger toold, because it takes longer to type wind check on here than it does to say it.

Taking time out of your busy day to defend 12,000 of your colleagues from a little harmless banter all while contradicting yourself by saying you don't ask how long final is or for wind checks because it's not necessary. Sorry bud, you won't find me anywhere near that slum HQ on virginia ave looking for internment at deltard. I can honestly tell you I want nothing to do with that hate filled slum of a city. That has got to be the most depressing place on earth. Heck, I had more fun in a combat theater than in the 'ATL'. I know you folks have more bases but who the he!! wants the chance of getting stuck there in the rear-end of the earth?!

I'm happy you love your life driving a bus, seriously. Everyone should be happy. I could not take the hit in pay to go back to driving a bus again at your place or the regionals. I admit that it would be nice to fly a 75 for a while but it would not beat what I get to do now and even a 75 would get old after a while. (probably why you troll a web board to excess ie 10,000+ posts) Hmm point a to point b for the rest of my life or have a mission between take off and landing?..... No brain-er.

Having a few of you double breasted types on the jump seat and having to force a smile on ya'lls a few times has solidified for me that your companies 'corporate culture' is not what I want out of life. Again, I'm happy it fits you (and all your little screen names-lol...and you pay 10 bucks a pop for that?! sheesh must be be nice as a D.I.N.K.).

So sorry to burst your bubble but your generation has given too much up (scope) to make it worth it at any major.

Well great, I hope you get your wish of never flying for DL. That's fantastic. Have fun doing whatever you are doing. I really do enjoy my flying, and there is great variety so it never really does get boring. I see some Europe, then I go down to South America, and then I may do some domestic stuff that is in the INTL category for some reason. I enjoy it a lot. Most of the flying I do is on the 767-300ER, which is fairly spacious, and some of them have a "condo" that has a bunk bed with lie flat sleeping. And, it is a lot better over here than you think. I did the commuter thing (what it was called back then), and this a a ton better. Hopefully our scope will tighten instead of loosen in the future, and more RJs will turn into beer cans, resulting in more mainline jobs available in the future. That would be better for all of us.
