Sorry...couldn't resist! Have you read the threads here? There are many companies that hire US pilots. Cathay, ANA, KAL, some airlines in Africa, I am sure there are more....

Here are a few more: Eithad, Emirates, airlines in China, Airlines in India, alot in the Middle East.

Have friends at most of these airlines plus some in Japan.

americans overseas

The FAA license is good anywhere, even pockets in Europe, where the JAA license is king, depends on supply and demand, and the registration of the aircraft.

Do any foreign carriers hire American pilots?

No just former UAL, U, and Mesa pilots.....

(sorry i'm a smart ass too... but meant nothing personally...)

Prune forums seem to be a little more active in the expatriate stuff...

I work for Cathay Pacific. They're not hiring now, but when they do all you need to do is take a few exams to covert you license from FAA to a Hong Kong. I think most others work the same way.
I had ZERO airline time and got hired as an FO. Many RJ captains have been hired as FO's as well.

I fly in the M.E. for Etihad and initially was amazed at how many US-expat pilots and controllers are out here in the region. Sometimes, especially the Bahrain FIR, sounds like you've just flown into US airspace.

yeah as a former US RJ CA if you meet the minimums and pass their interview you're just as qualified as any other FO hire...of course, some of these astronauts out here will attempt to tell you otherwise...
