..Delta further reported Tuesday plans to ground about 50 jets, including its entire fleet of 14 Boeing 747-200 freighter aircraft on Dec. 31 because of that fleet's age and inefficiency. Delta said it will also ground 30 Bombardier CRJ regional aircraft, as well as several less efficient Boeing 757 and MD-88 aircraft...

, as well as several less efficient Boeing 757 and MD-88 aircraft...

Yeah I have to say those 757 or really inefficient. Especially whenevery west coast flight is oversold!

I understand some may be getting expensive on maint, but to replace an airbus or 737 on an oversold 757 run sucks for commuting!

The ASA reductions are all tied to the addition of the old Freedom 900s. Read ASA's press release on the announcement, they agreed to remove 20 200s one year prior to their contract end date in exchange for the CRJ 900s with a 10 year term. Now the issue is who loses the 10.

The 737-900 holds as many as some of the 757's

Hey ACL,

Do you know how many CRJ's are in the fleet now for the new DCI family?

701EV

Let's not forget the low fruit on the tree... Mesaba has ONLY 17 crj200's, wholly owned, no min. conract?
