Horrible to watch. Condolences to their family, friends and all at FedEx.

Christ Almighty! One minute you're on approach, the next minute all hell breaks loose. As MD said, there but for the grace of God...

Prayers and remembrance for friends and family.

Yet, not a thing on the Fedex website other than an ad trying to steal business from DHL.

This is really upsetting. Can any MD-11 pilots verify some technical stuff about the MD-11 design?

A safety website quoted an MD-11 pilot as saying that the MD-11 horizontal stab is 40% smaller than the DC-10, and that it makes the plane horribly hard to control on landing. That, and the LSAS system is supposed to compensate for the lack of stability. He also said that, on touchdown, one has push forward to compensate for a sudden pitch-up caused by the autospoilers, but then one has to immediately pull back as the autobrakes kick in to keep the nosewheel from slamming down. It sounds like a handfull in harsh winds... can anyone verify these items? God bless to the crew and their families.

Sometimes our glorious machines fail us. That video was frightening and humbling. Everything went wrong so quickly.

just respect

For all the arm chairs; please be be quiet. We don't know, you don't know, nobody knows. Respect the people involved.
Our friends are now with God as are the families please respect the emotion.

Condolences to the families of the crew. No one knows how dangerous our profession can be until we witness a situation like this.

"cleared unrestricted climb for two fallen dogs."

Awesome post landlover! Godspeed and God Bless those FedEx pilots and their famillies!

Fly safe guys and gals....Fly safe on your next trip!

Kevin and Anthony...

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Godspeed....

Holy $hi!

I've seen a 172 bounce like that on landing (we probably all have) but never an airplane like the MD 11.

Very sad, a horrific scene to watch. Godspeed gentlemen.
