Let’s see, zero members of my party are asked to help write the stimulus bill. Three members of my party are allowed to comment on the bill while it’s in committee. Zero members of congress are given time to actually read the bill despite a bi-partisan pledge to post it for public viewing for at least 48 hours before a vote. Yep, I’m a obstructionist if I vote against this thing.
The Dems got 60% of what they wanted and the Reps got 40% (tax cuts) of what they wanted but that's not good enough to claim bipartisan?

I suppose you agree with Rush and claim it is a conspiracy just because he didn't know how to search a PDF file?

Yeah I saw Boehner flop down 1,100 + pages claiming fowl and not having enough time to read it, as a last ditch grandstanding stunt. Almost 90% of the document was made available for almost two weeks prior to the vote. Only the 10% including changes could even remotely be considered rushed. I don't know about you but I can read 100 pages in a couple hours.

Your clown leaders insult us all with their partisan hissy fits. It is pathetic.

To bad the GOP is trying its best to obstruct, hoping that the country fails, just to regain power in four years. Yeah, that makes me want to be a Republican.

Yeah it wouldn't have to do anything with the stimulous bill being a turd that they were given six hours to read before voting, would it.

"spend now, pay for it later" isn't that the kind of thinking that got people into foreclosures in the first place? And yet, somehow this is different?

You might want to double check your tax cut percentage. The analysis I watched on CNN said the final bill had tax cuts that would cost about 25% of the total. And a large chunk of the 25% is not actually tax cuts, it's welfare checks for non-income tax payers.

Bingo!!! Hey, that's the democratic way! Free handouts for the poor. Kind of goes hand in hand with sub prime mortgages too doesn't it? Let's let people have things they have no business owning or can afford.

People that make 30K-40K per year per household and live in 400K-500K homes just doesn't add up financially when you do the math. About half of the 120 homes in my neighborhood are in forclosure due to this. I'm sure the Democrats will bail them out as well though. Let's reward the irresponsible people yet again!

When are the people that actually pay their mortgage on time, every time, going to receive a free handout?

Anyone heard of anything?

I bet you didn't see that coming, did you? (your thread turning into a CSPAN political argument)

Yes, CS, FX, FLOPS, and XoJet already furloughed. Here at NJA, we're hanging on, no plans to furlough, but that could change tomorrow.

How about when Phil Gramm called the American people a "bunch of whiners"? You remember that?

watch the link below, and while this woman's story is sad it is most absolutely whining. This new stimulus is only creating more govt. dependency and people like this woman will never get off their feet and get a job and a house on their own.

Not sure where you got this info, but when the bill went to conference a large majority of it was changed or revised i.e.-the price tag, some tax cuts were removed, pet projects like Reid's train went from 2 billion to 8 billion, and the home buyers credit just to name a few off the top of my head. Just pull up the copy of the bill on congress' website and observe all of the pen and ink changes. Also if this legislation was so dire that it had to be passed last Friday. Why did the president wait 3-1/2 days to sign it himself. Seems to me that time could have been spent by congress reviewing the document.

There is a difference between whining and pleading.

Republicans, who claim to be the moral poilice of America, who are believers in faith should be sympathetic to a person in need. Perhaps the Repuclicans are actually more concerned with lining their pockest with oil (gold), and playing with little boys in bathroom stalls?

For those that actually give a sh_t about the original question, at Flex in the last week or so I've come across:

"I heard another 25..."
"I heard another 50..."
"I heard another 75..."
"I heard they're takin' us down to 400..."
"I heard 3 sets of 25, 3 months apart..."
"I heard none until summer..."
"I heard 100 total..."
"I heard that would be it unless (and I like this part) the economy continues to deteriorate..."
"I heard that was it..."
"I heard a fleet size of 75 airplanes..."

and many more... take your pick
