Don't know why ASA would cherish that?

Heard on the Radio that Southwest is coming to Atl. Southwest is doing well in Denver and is planning the same in the ATL. I will support them a well run company with my hard earned cash

Maybe true, but if you are an ASA employee, you should like SWA in ATL less than anyone than perhaps Airtran...... Is it some blind hatred for your primary customer, Delta, that you want another LCC in ATL? What routes will get hit first with SWA from ATL, probably the cherry ones at first like NY and LA, but overall, I doubt it would be helpful to any of the airlines serving ATL to have more competition in ATL. I know the SWA folks say that low fares stimulate airtravel, but with Airtran already in place, I'm not sure how much pent up airtravel exists in ATL.

No KIDDING!

I'm so glad to have the looming threat of segment fees/per passenger/trip costs out from over my head!

We (the 5 of us) fly from ATL to ABQ 2-4 times a year. That would be about $2500/trip if we were paying for it.

The $212 annual fee I'll spend to be able to do it non-rev is no big deal.

I'm pretty sure for me, paying $212 once a year is going to be less than the total per mile/segment fees that would otherwise have been assessed.

Also, I'm really glad I'm able to go through life as a 'glass is half (or more) full' kind of guy.

Some of you folks seem really negative and discouraged.

I have a job with great benefits including extremely cheap air travel for me and my family, great medical benefits and a regular paycheck. My management does a great job and is responsive to my requests. I get terrific training and work under really fair work rules.

All this, and to top it off...I barely even have to go to work!

WTF would complain about that?
Ahhhh...the blissfully unaware. You lose your medical tomorrow, Chief...how far are your F/O savings going to get you and the family? We know the golly-gee-willickers "glass half-full" crowd seldom take things like that into account because that's just stinkin' thinkin'

Get real

Pardon my ignorance, but would u have to pay the activation fee just to fly on your own metal as well - in other words - anything with a DL flight code?

As an aside, I commute on you guys to/from SBN/FWA-ATL weekly, and I have had nothing but good flights...thanks for the rides

don't they take unlimited jumpseaters? you'll have higher priority since its your airplane and I hope you wouldn't have to pay the fee to jumpseat...

Then an american pilot could go for free and you couldn't

How about a segment fee for all flight EXCEPT for commuters who select 2 airports of their choce for commuting.

If all you do is commute, who cares about the fee? You can just jumpseat can't you?

For someone that wants to non-rev with their family, this sucks. As to all the folks that think it is just great to pay 200$ for something you used to get for free, I don't know what to say.

Don't DAL people get a higher priority riding ASA/ SKYW than their people do on mainline?
-I think that fact is really cheesing many people off.

Anyone else think this guy need an "around the world" wedgie? Maybe a "flushie," just for grins!

-I call dibs!

Personally, I don't care either way. It sucks, but it's not like you can really do much in the way of travelling anyways. Willing to bust a family vacation on the odds of catching four empty seats on an airplane durring the spring, summer, or early fall- I don't think so. I'd rather buy the tickets off Travelocity.

As for the banquet- don't care either. I'm not one for fanfare and such. The pin- just something else to sit in my dresser drawer.

Damn......after seeing the memo about the acars passwords, I realized that people really will bitch about anything.
