Watched a real union today stand up for it's workers. It was the UAW. They stood strong on their beliefs and were willing to let the company go bankrupt before they conceded wages. Maybe if the Mesa MEC stood up for their pilot group, the contract wouldn't be so crappy. ALPO has no balls. If Mesa went into bankruptcy protection, would the contract have been any worse. HELL NO!! Way to dumb down the industry ALPO. Call the UAW, and learn how to grow balls.

Uh oh! No you din't!
You just pissed off PFT_128, DoinTime and Rez.

How dare you speak about ALPA that way!

Yea- and who is ALPA? Yup, you, we, and me..........

Another bitching post on ALPA by someone without the willingness to fight for, or fix, the union that represents them. Either volunteer, or get the hell out of the way. Fix it or quit bitching already.............................

Already did it.

Voluteered, worked, and was part of the lame machine. No balls, just like you.

An employee group standing up for something they faught for??? I hope the airline pilots are taking down notes.

ALPA might be in luck. I've heard the UAW has a training-pair on hand.

The UAW is one of the main reasons the big 3 are in such crappy shape.

If a group of pilots stand up for themselves and strike, their union is there for them.

If they vote to roll over and take another one in the ass, no union can help them.

ALPA provides the tools, but you can't help those that won't help themselves.

It wasn't the UAW that had enough. It was the Men and Women of the UAW.

Blaming ALPA for the actions of a pilot group is like blaming the Mint for people defaulting on their sub-prime Mortgages.

Right before Delta and Northwest went into Bankruptcy, the respective CEO's spoke in hearings related to the survival of their companies and plead for a different kind of bailout--Congressional action for relief to restructure the laws governing the funding of pensions. It was all for show, so they could keep the employees on board for what they were really about to do--file for bankruptcy.

The CEO of the Big 3, in a similar fashion, appeared before Congress to plea for relief--a bailout! Their next step will be to file for bankruptcy as Congress or now the President may give them a lesser amount of money that will be used for them to enter bankruptcy. However, the threat of bankruptcy and the conditional demands by Senators, may force the Corporate leaders, Union leaders, contractors, suppliers and creditors to sit down for a major restructuring of their costs--same outcome as bankruptcy, but without the restrictions and a third party Bankruptcy Judge making the decisions.

Tick-Tock, tick tock.........

Well said! If the members of either group were fully engaged, the leadership would be less likely to run amuck. Ask Duane Woerth!
