Give some examples, without Nicalau, because everyone knows that due to demographics, DOH was not going to happen at to such dissimilar airlines (age wise)
Just some examples.........
Why should we ignore Nicolau?
You don't have to. I only care what the arbitrators think, and they are not coming to FI advice
Their integration was done after the change in ALPA merger policy, which eliminated DOH as the prefered method of integration, there were fleet differences and it's the most recent interpretation for integrating two large major airlines. Nicolau is the perfect example.
USAir to AW was as TWA to AA. USAir was in it's second BK, and likely in it's last. If you honestly believe that NWA/DAL is a similar pairing and anyone other than you believes that good luck - you'll need it. Also while DOH may not be THE preferred integration method, it says no where that it cannot be used. JMO, but the change in merger language was to provide more latitude in determinng SLI methodology to fit the pairing, not to exclude something that might work. You are really grasping at straws.
What do you have against integration by status and category? Are you afraid your fleet doesn't measure up well with Delta's, so you have to use some other methodolgy other than the quality of the jobs brought to the merger? Very telling.

Nicolau did not decide based on each company's economic circumstance at the time of the merger. He was very clear when he concluded that both sides needed each other. The rumor that Nicolau's award was driven by AAA being in BK is just another false rumor at NALPA not at all substantiated by Nicolau's written opinion.
Are you afraid of not being able to exploit the SLI to your advantage and actually have to have a fair SL that doesn't have you pillaging our careers?
I don't think that you should go ahead of the 17 year guy. Instead, I think that you should renegotiate your scope, take back your flying of the smaller jets, recall everyone and hire the junior guys at the 17 year guy's airline, move on with things. Don't forget to send the memo to the 17 year guys airline.
If it weren't for the regional feed....you wouldn't have a job either....We are mutually dependant on each other at this point.....My job doesn't belong to you.....If you wanted this flying you should have kept it....You sold it to keep your pay up....Doesn't belong to you anymore.....
If we had wanted to exploit the SLI process we would not have negotiated the JCBA which got NALPA off their "B" scale contract and brought NWA pilots up to DAL pay rates.
I'll say this politely. DALPA negotiated LOA19 behind NALPA's back. If you would have negotiated with the Northwest pilots, both groups would have gotten a hell of a lot more due to more leverage.
You guys showed cowardice in the face of enemy (mngmt) with LOA19 and sold out - left men in the field.
