You mean like AIG or United or Enron or insert name of any number of the many U.S. corporations that have down sized and/or shipped jobs overseas in order to maximize shareholder profits at the expense of millions of American workers?

Why haven't the Democrats put a stop this crisis!? They've been in the house for just as long and have the tools at their disposal (Filibuster) to stop the legislation from hurting the little guy. Where have they been? They've even had the majority in House and Senate for 2 years, I haven't heard a peep from them in that time. It must have been a top secret Cheny/Halliburton consipracy led by the dimwit Bush who outsmarted EVERY Democrat on the hill... Wake up, the politicians you so love and adore are just a liable for our present day situation. They will do more damage in the next 2 years than the Republicans could ever do. As the all-knowing all-naive 777Forever says, STAND WITH ME! WE CAN DEFEAT THIS EVIL. VOTE MCCAIN! Are you convinced?

The big weak link in the "trickle down" theory of economics is that there is no protections that keep the trickle down in the United States. China, India and other countries have benefited greatly as a result of the trickle down from the U.S. corporations and "rich". The middle class in the U.S. has not benefited. If you have a system in place that prevents outsourcing of jobs, then trickle down may work and help the U.S. economy. But we do not have that in place and that is the problem.

Its over Smacktard. McCain campaign is now just in a state of desperation. Not only the majority of the US but the REST of the world has realized what direction must be taken. Its sad that you don't. I don't want to hear it when you get a bigger check in the mail though.

"Put simply: Bin Laden probably realizes it could become markedly more difficult to paint the United States as the 'Great Satan' with a new president who is admired internationally,"

Less than 2 weeks til common sense returns to the USA

Reagan trailed Carter by 8 points in late October, do you remember what happened there? It's not over until the concession speech.

As for the rest of the world, how many electoral votes do they get? Zero. Who cares what they think.

With regard to my pay check getting bigger, do you actually think this redistribution of wealth is intended for folks making over 70K a year? No, it's intended for the unproductive, non-taxpaying individuals the democrats are so desperate to coddle. Yeah, those are the folks that make this country run</sarcasm>. I'd rather make my own than have some politicians promise me what I 'deserve'. But hey, that's my opinion. Maybe you are on to something; why work when you can have it handed to you for free. It's worked so well throughout history. Here's to the freebies!

Supply-side economics do not apply in a world economy. Because the rich who would buy goods and services from the lower classes, (hence trickle-down), do not spend the majority of their dollars on American goods.

German Cars. Korean TVs. Chinese shoes. The idea that we bolster our own economy by giving the super-rich more money is complete fallacy in today's society. We have seen more wealth siphoned off the middle-class to overseas product manufacturers, while we sit around and sell Big Macs to each other.

We are eroding the majority of American wealth in the attempts to preserve it for the few.

Look at how Obama rose to his current position. He is a prime example of the American Dream is he not? Please answer that question.

He wants to make sure every American has the same opportunity he did as long as you work hard and are motivated. College loan money should be going to top students from inner cities/rural areas that cannot afford college, not to some lame war in the middle east so the oil companies can get more money. Hard working middle class workers should be able to obtain affordable medicine, and not go into bankruptcy because they paid so much to support a drug monopoly.

You think Bush/McCain would have been were they are today if it wasn't because of their fathers? Make damn sure you're born into a rich and/or famous family. Is that the new American Dream?

Trickle down works when the money stays in the country, but that isn't the case anymore.

Our GDP is collapsing and the money that once flowed to the American house holds now goes abroad. We are exporting our wealth at an alarming rate.

It is time to stimulate the base, spend on domestic projects to electrify our economy. But most important of all that I think the generations below me do not understand; we have got to improve our standing on the global stage. Powell nailed it, the Republican base does not understand the new age of thinking, it is time for a new idealogy to get this country running again.

I am 57 years old, I have never voted for a Democrat but I am about to because we are in trouble, serious trouble.

I like the guy, I'll admit. He is exactly the American dream. But how did he get where he is? Thru government mandates and redistribution of wealth or thru hard work? I'll bet the later.

It's not that I don't like him, I just don't like his policies, they've been proven time and again that they don't work. I agree with a lot of your arguments, there is no reason why a country as rich and as successful as ours cannot pay for college (which is cheaper than supporting an unproductive worker all their life), have health care and offer its citizens the promise of a chance. My problem is using government to mandate and then administer it. We spend more than any other country on the planet in education per student. What's the problem? I'll tell ya, the problem is the administration of it. Wait 'till the government runs healthcare, we're thru after that.
