Got this from a normally very reliable source.
Apparently Mokulele (GO Express Cessna Caravan's) is the airline that is wet leasing the Republic E-170's untill they can train replacement pilots.
The intent is for them to do the flying Go has been doing inter-island and Go can leave. The perception is that it is a way for Go to pull out and supposedly save face.
Boy, JO has really opened a bag of worms and it keeps getting better and better! Go has been losing millions, this operation will lose even more.

JO will burn in hell! Every bit as bad a Lorenzo ever was! That guy has destoryed many people's lives to make a quick buck here and there.

-What a complete waste of skin!

Will the Republic 170s will be painted up in Mokulele Express colors? That will be a nice upgrade for the Mokulele pilots, going from a Caravan to a Guppy Killer. Those things look like mini-Airbus A-320s.

That will never happen!! NEVER!!

This isn't the only proof but, the Mokulele owners have been spotted touring the AQ gates with state officials and what appeared to be investors.

Passenger counts are way down over last year. Visitor counts are way down over last year. HA adding five A/C to their interisland fleet and are using some of Aloha's old Gates. The second Superferry to the big isle is coming next year. Wall Street?? Loans?? Housing?? Fuel Costs?? Credit issues?? and to top that Pee-wee Hermin has a new TV show? RIGHT!!!!!

All true. But Mokulele leasing a couple jets and Mesa pulling out may be how JO wants to exit Hawaii. Is it a good business plan? No, but the entire Go operation has been a very poorly conceived and executed deal from the beginning and this fits right in with how JO does business.

The bottom line is Go is losing a LOT of money and Mesa cannot carry it indefinetly. Even if they go Chapter 11 Go would not survive a reoganization.

The Go CRJs are all on leases..it would be cheaper for them to fly them instead of park them. There are talks of sending the remaining ERJs(not used for Delta) to do GO! flying...
