bye bye NWA, hello SWA! Alot of people saw that one happen. NWA has been strong arming the airport commission to opening up gates to SWA, now NWA lost all its sway, so here comes the fair wars

Not really... if we commute to Memphis, we typically use company aircraft. I'd be worried about what our corporate travel department would start using for accepted fares. I guess it wouldn't matter for the international guys/gals as much as the domestic bubbas.
It's not all that bad. Actually we don't always use Southwest for our commercials. At least they're comfy and easy with extra charges, etc.

Please tell me we got gates at the Humph terminal....
That side seems to be a better fit for our model....much easier than the Lindy side.

Anyone know?

Is there a market for SWA out of MSP? Doesn't seem to be too many trailer parks up here:laugh:

The land of Jesse Ventura and Al Franken? Trust me, there are plenty of trailer parks in that market.

Yep, local news said you will be at the Humphrey terminal with more than one gate. They said specific frequency to MDW would be announced in about 6 weeks.

Typically we run 6-10 flights a day out of one gate. Allegedly we are only going to MDW to begin with. More than one gate would not be in our best interests unless we go to other destinations. I would also guess LAS, MDW, MCO. And LBB of course.

SWA is a fine company but certainly nothing for anyone to be worried about. They are subject to the same market forces as the rest of the industry and it can be argued that they don't have access to as much revenue as world wide carriers. According to M. Boyd, 63 of SWAs last 77 city pairs are money losers. Not surprising since the domestic economy sucks.

DLs been going head to head with SWA in SLC for years with good results. NWAs been doing the same in DTW. Just match them flight for flight, same price, with aircraft equipped with live TV, on demand movies, wifi, and a route structure and frequent flyer program that will take you anywhere in the world, and let the customer decide.
