Alaska starts MSP this month. Looks like a lot of CEOs are smelling some Delta pullouts from MSP.
What does a Delta pullout smell like??
It's not all that bad. Actually we don't always use Southwest for our commercials. At least they're comfy and easy with extra charges, etc.Not really... if we commute to Memphis, we typically use company aircraft. I'd be worried about what our corporate travel department would start using for accepted fares. I guess it wouldn't matter for the international guys/gals as much as the domestic bubbas.
Is there a market for SWA out of MSP? Doesn't seem to be too many trailer parks up here:laugh:
I'm gonna' need a bigger Jepp binder...
Please tell me we got gates at the Humph terminal....
That side seems to be a better fit for our model....much easier than the Lindy side.
Anyone know?
SWA is a fine company but certainly nothing for anyone to be worried about. They are subject to the same market forces as the rest of the industry and it can be argued that they don't have access to as much revenue as world wide carriers. DLs been going head to head with SWA in SLC for years with good results. Just match them flight for flight, same price, with aircraft equipped with live TV, on demand movies, wifi, and a route structure and frequent flyer program that will take you anywhere in the world, and let the customer decide.
Let's talk in a year.

Boyd, 63 of SWAs last 77 city pairs are money losers. Not surprising since the domestic economy sucks.

Spaulding! Get dressed...you're playing golf today!Let the fare wars begin.
Really tell that to the customers of Airtran, dont think they have a problem taking away business from Delta. They are continously breaking record load factors.
Really, Delta seems pretty happy lately competing against AirTran.
