So NATCO said the pool would be flushed April of 09... What's the rumor and conjecture out there as to whether any of us poolies will get on board before that?

My PERSONAL OPINION, is that since Delta has a pile of guys sitting in the interview "pool", a group that was offered interviews and then hiring shut down, that is where it would be gentlemanly to put the NW poolies. At least give them a new interview at Big(er) D when the hiring starts up again.

I know this is not a job, but a mighty nice compromise. Also, you would probably stand a pretty good chance...."I'm just saying"......

Why wouldn't NWA just hire out of their pool, since they will be operating as two separate airlines for a while anyway???

The reason is that they don't need them now with the schedule as it is for the winter. By the time spring rolls around, those decisions will be Delta's as the DCC will be in Oct or Nov. If I were to guess, I would say that any hiring will come from both pools, and then any interviews that were set up and then cancelled will be reinterviewed as necessary.

I think that people in the pool may get in the back door to DAL. It depends on Delta legal. There are a few people I know who failed a portion of the DAL interview that are hired at NWA and in the pool. Hiring these people from the pool at NWA would lead to a prescience for all of the people DAL has turned down. Lots of legal tight rope with that one. Especially if it was the psyche portion. There is nothing they can do about an active or furloughed employee, but one that is not afforded the rights of the JPWA is another thing.
It is an interesting debate none the less.
FWIW I have flown with guys that were in the Western pool that DAL hired, so there is a change that it will go this way. The only difference was that Western was hiring at the time. NWA and DAL are not.

I don't see any legal tightrope with that one. I know for a fact there are pilots at NWA who were shot fown by Delta, just as there are pilots at Delta who were shot down by NWA. No one is suggesting we don't take those pilots. My humble opinion is if Delta hires, we should take people from both pools.

On the other hand if you are right and there is a legal issue, it goes beyond the Delta/NWA thing. I mean, how can Delta justify putting their passengers in an RJ flown by a pilot who failed his Delta interview?

Oh I agree. I am just stating what a few good friends of mine have stated when they were thinking out loud.

here's a question. i'm "in the pool" for NWA. if i left my prop job to get some jet time with say, mesaba or compass... just saying... would that hurt my chances of being called for a class..whenever that may or may not be..(thinking about the flow through agreements and bypassing those in line..)

With the current economy, I wouldn't leave to go start over at a regional. Be glad you have a job right now with so many others furloughing.
