XOJET Reduces Fuel Surcharge for On-Demand Flights

Last update: 10:00 a.m. EDT Sept. 12, 2008
SAN CARLOS, Calif., Sep 12, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- XOJET-- one of the world's fastest growing private aviation companies, built on a unique business model that combines private jet ownership, leasing and on-demand travel -- announced it has reduced by 9% the fuel surcharge for on-demand flights that it put in place in the wake of record-high oil prices. The reduction will save clients approximately $1000 on the cost of a round trip transcontinental flight.
"XOJET has done something that is essentially unprecedented -- lowering a fuel charge after it's been implemented," said Adam Komack, chief marketing officer for XOJET. "For us, the decision is simple. A surcharge is a necessity to offset costs that are out of our control; it should never be confused with a revenue stream or a means of nickel and diming clients. If the price of oil goes down, the surcharge should be reduced as well."
The reduction is effective immediately.

Don't listen to Luke. You know he is just jealous because he secretly wants to fly a new Challenger 300 and he won't be able to...

Yep, I am jealous. I haven't flown a weekend or a holiday in over 4 years, 20 RON's a year, with 10 of those for recurrent training, we don't fly for the two weeks over Christmas/New Years and the first week of July and three weeks of vacation besides that, and I have both a 401K and a defined benefit retirement. Yep, you busted me.

I'm just sick of people talking about how XO is reinventing the wheel. Sure, congratulations on being the Flight Options of the left (oops, west) coast. They must issue foggles to every pilot and require them to wear them even while off duty.

If you're sick of reading the threads, please don't click on links entitled "XO Jet".

Good for you. I am happy for you that you enjoy your life.
Like I said before, no one is forcing you to be here.

I don't like "The View"or "Ellen" or "Oprah", So guess what I DON'T WATCH THEM.
I hate to break it to you but the location of our company HQ has nothing to do with our personal political views, that has no relevance to this post.

No Foggles needed. We like where we work. XO treats us extremely well, the way a company should treat a pilot group.I have said this before in another thread, we know we are not immune to the ways and pitfalls of the aviation industry. Business is good for us, and we are trying to make the most of it. A positive attitude goes a long way.

Now before you think up a smarta$$ response, think about this. If you are happy where with your job, or life in general, then why did you have to come on this thread to be negative towards someone else who is trying to spread good news for those that might be interested.

That all sounds impressive, but tell us what your paycheck is! I've been told by a VERY reliable source you make less that $17,500 a year and your payscale caps at $23,000. So with your 401k and "definded benefit retirement", after working 79 years at the company, you should pull down a cool $765 a month in retirement. Cool Hand Luke...You are a Goose Egg!
