So you're telling everyone that Doug Parker lies to us all in those Town Hall Meetings?

Yeah, a familiar, beaten-like-a-dead-horse stance by the West. You guys were "hiring like crazy" with no end in sight.....right. Not what Doug says, but you guys only quote him when it suits your pursuit of the windfall.

Not only hiring like crazy.. the West was looking into the feasibility of the space shuttle for expanding their international routes.

My personal opinion of the east is one of disgust. They agreed to a process, did'nt like the results and now went back on their word. I know it seemed a onesided award but they were warned by Nic. that their doh stance was not going to happen. They gambled and lost.

Well said, as a former AWE Dispatcher, I wish the westies the best - hold their feet to the fire of their original word.

Good Luck westies!

Who's beating the dead horse here? Nicolau all ready figured this out. We can all see who can beat the dead horse hardest, I suppose.

I agree on one point, the east pilots disgust me. On the other hand, while I think the award was slightly onesided, very slightly, I think Nicolua had it pretty close to how it should have been done.

I suspect the arbitrators in the DL/NW merger will be sending messages also. Will be interesting to see if the respective MECs are listening.

Be Careful and the other fella (who I don't respond to since he never answers any questions and as an ex 141 pilot embarrasses me with his posts) -- Here is a refresher:

Now that the company has announced furloughs, on 1 October (three weeks) pilots at AWA who had jobs at the time of the merger will be put on the street, while new hires stay on out East so that East downgrades can occur. Furthermore, East Coast Furloughees who did not have a job at the time of the merger will remain employed while West Coast pilots will be let go. Even after the 175 West Coast Mainline Furloughs, every East Furlough Recallee gets to keep his job – it is basically unfair.

Yeah some windfall to the West. Every East recallee can thank our management for the decision to stop hiring out West so we could get the furloughees back. Some gratitude from USAPA ... USAPA is further eroding the image of East Coast Pilots (and all 121 pilots) and more of the industry is now aware of the "unfair" actions being taken by USAPA/"the East Coast Pilots reflected in the lawsuit." We'll let the courts decide. Out West, Integrity matters.

Yeah, we probably are....

Dave will soon be all but furlough-proof....something he certainly wasn't back in '05

Congrats to the West! You got the call sign and now you'll get the windfall in job security.

B'Careful;
You still don't get it, do you buddy? Save for a couple of hundred that live somewhere other than PHX / West Coast, NO ONE wanted to run and bid to fly the A330 in the middle of the freekin' night just to see Europe after 24 hours of rest (let alone fly out of PHL / CLT domestic...for what?).

The chance for much better money and schedule as early as last fall has been urinated away (but for how long?).

I guess we'll let the courts decide.

PS I'm still not sure what of "windfall" it is that we are realizing. We have pilots that were employed at AMERICA WEST AIRLINES before the acquisition that will presently be out of work on October 1st, while NEW HIRES (hired after the acquisition) that will remain employed in PHL & CLT (a violation of the TA).

Word on the inside of the beltway is if USAPA is successful with getting out of the "Final and Binding" arbitration by just changing their name ( same group of pilots doing the same job at the same location) the government will change the name of the US of A to the US of the A and the national debt will be gone!!! That debt was the old government, we have a new name!!!!

First of all, management lies like a sack of manure. Does'nt matter which airline you are at. I find it hard to believe that you are that naive.

How many pilots were in the hiring pool at US Airways when the merger was announced? Yeah, thought so. AWA had about 80, many of whom are now on the contested "third list". Guys that I coached for the interview will be working while I'm furloughed. If you don't think that's screwed up, you have some serious issues.
