the guy is a d0uche bag.
Did you work with him Occam? What are your thoughts?Madam Cleo might have been referring to him as the "Howard" mentioned in previous posts.
"The Dark Prince"
Howard was not a popular guy in the ALPA ranks. If UAL hired him to create a better relationship with the pilots I have one thing to say, "Good luck with that."
How is it that a someone who "was not a popular guy in the ALPA ranks", managed to be the number 2 guy in ALPA for 8 years? Something does not compute.....
The same way Dick Cheney is the number 2 guy in the United States... and how well has that worked out?!
Did you work with him Occam? What are your thoughts?
Yes.
Good man.
Will do fine. Like anyone else who's taken a stand on a issue (or issues), someone will dislike him.
Has good mediation skills.
He was an LEC rep, then MEC S/T during our strike, and then Duane's E.A.
Opposed Age 65.
Was Howard a negotiator during Contract '98 ?
He's been sold to the UAL pilots as a "command pilot" with experience in the 747, 757 and 727 and a Thunderbird driver.
Yet, he's only typed in the 75/76. What the hell was he a "cAPTAIN" in at NWA, then?
No medical, either.
I hear he was Skipper of the Sick List. Hope he had a MD's note.
"Command pilot" is a USAF term. Remember from when you were in the military?
My point is, why on earth would UAL management boast of his military experience when he's not in the military?
Again, sorry, but flying for Uncle Sam is not the same.
"Command pilot" means nothing to the UAL pilot group. Especially if he's not current as a "C"aptain.
Howard is a suit. A "flip top". You know, as long as they pay him, he will flip the top of his open. They will pour in whatever effluent they wish. He will let that flow until they call him back for a refill. From management's point of view, that is always a good choice. For the pilots, not so much. That said, he is no worse than any other tool management would employ.
