Kind of like starting the walls of your house on fire to stay warm.

I suspect it was put together by a soon-to-be-furloughed guy with nothing to lose, because it's a really dumb idea to jump up and down on thin ice.

Nice work UAL ALPA!

It's like watching the kid that always gets in trouble act up again. One wants to ask, "WTF?"

These guys are nuts. It's like they want to choke the golden goose all over again.

I could see UAL liquidating. And the business school case studies would show how insane the pilots were.

"Would you like a job that irritates you, or no job at all?"

Oh, that's easy. No job at all.

You're right, just understand that the employees are the goose here. And Tilton has been crapping on them for the past 6 years while wiping his ass with their pensions and retirements.

Tilton can burn in hell.

Oh jesus, I just noticed it was done by the ALPA MEC. That is just plane insane.

We need a few more UAL MECs out there. These guys know how to play hardball.

Looks like a "feel-good" measure to me. I'm not trying to rain on the parade and I do think Tilton should be in prison; but how is this gonna make it happen?

The UA MEC has spent the last couple of years sending out e-mails telling everyone what's wrong -- as if they didn't know. That didn't fix anything. Now a website that no one but UA employees will look at. What will that fix?

What do you suggest? Put a hit out on the man?

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if this caught the attention of some of the news media and got them some air time (gotta keep digging to fill a 24/7 news schedule, you know). Look at the USAPA clowns--did anyone think that 1-page ad would land them on Larry King? And a mutiny at United Airlines is a heck of a lot more interesting than 8 captains getting extra training for hauling around loads of fuel.

An overthrow is something that takes some momentum to get the whole thing past the "tipping point." When the UAL Board feels that the world is crumbling around Tilton's feet, he'll be gone. He's got his spin machine running non-stop, so it's going to take some work. I think this website is a good first step, and long overdue.

I thought it was pretty funny. Couldn't help but wonder - If they succeed in getting him ousted - How many hundreds of millions of dollars does he get to take home with him?

Don't you worry, Tilt will be taken care of regardless of how he is ejected.

12.8 if he leaves, 6.6 if he stays. It sounded like these numbers were predicated on a merger happening.

More of the same

Another "we'll get them this time" move by the UAL guys. But then again what choice does this group have to try and oust the biggest hindrance to their company's future.
This is not the end all fix all though for UAL. Getting rid of Glenn is a start, the caustic relations and animosity among the labor groups themselves will be the next big hurtle for that company. They have all been so royally screwed and are out for themselves when the opportunity comes, if it ever comes.
But what do you expect when you are so beaten and outplayed for so long? This mess goes back decades. Blue Skies, Esop, BK.........Just when the pilots think they get one over on the boys at WHQ, then they no sooner get their a###$$ handed back in a hat. It took Dubinsky 20,000 canceled flights over the summer of 2000 to get something decent back from the ESOP. And that contract lasted how long? Yea we got something back, and then gave it all back in Jan 03...But what else were the choices?
UAL is such a mess, it will take the second coming to get something moving in a consistently positive pattern. I witnessed the apathy and operational mayhem 2 months ago as a fare paying passenger on UAL. (I resigned in disgust in 2007 after bypassing for 2 years). BWI-ORD-MSP. It took 7 hours, and 3 jets (2 of which were broken on arrival at the gate) to get me to my Gulfstream finishing up a maintenance visit at MSP. No parts, no CSR's/gate agents, no sense of urgency...just a perverted sense of "abnormalcy" and SSDD. I was appalled to the say the least and had to explain to my DO why I chose my alma mater to fly to MSP instead of the other carriers available. So in return for my $$ I spent on the tickets for 2 pilots to DH, I get an almost misconnected international flight the next day because I barely made it back to BWI in time to fly my CEO and the entire mgmt team of my company to their destination....Thanks UAL...and never again. You guys are just not reliable, and sadly you guys are not alone. Only LUV gets us consistently where we need to be.
I do hope it works out for you guys, lots of buds stuck there,
