Boy do we have alot of idiots in our industry? A 15 20 year captain at a regional. I wouldnt say our one year fo's in the 145, 170, crj are better pilots but I will say they probably made better carrier decisions than those guys. as did you when you packed your bags and left that regional for some company that had growth and good outlook.

What does all three have in common? Oh yes they are owned by respective mainlines. Is it fare to say that you stabbed the mainline pilots in the back, knowing that you are owned by the same group/airline. Yet you fly under there name with subpar wages.

The only people that have stabbed mainline pilots in the back are?????????? ->Mainline pilots themselves<-!
I would have never thought that the EMB 170's or CRJ900's would have been flown at a regional carrier. Come on! 23.00 bucks an hour and to top out at 37.00 for FO's is crazy!!! I blame mainline pilots for giving up all the scope relief to management out of there own greed for the senior pilots to protect their jobs. As always, seems like mainline pilots will sell there young out. (Hell most pilots groups will)

Mainline along with ALPA opened this can of worms by allowing these planes to be operated at the Regional Level.

As pissed off as I get knowing what those pilots make flying it, I blame ALPA and Mainline more then the Republic Pilots flying it.

Dude you are way off. Totally mis-informed. Been here nine years. That stuff about an alter-ego is true. We voted to kill Republic. Why do you think we bought Mid Atlantic? And Shuttle America when they were only flying Dash 8's and going out of business? All the growth would have been on the alter-ego. What happened at TSA would've happened to us. But we stopped it. I am proud we did and my contract was an improvement over the previous one.

Or you can choose to believe the junk you continue to pollute the web with. Choose wisely.
Biff, May I also say that you are a bit off yourself. I am a RAH pilot so you can be rest assured that I am correct. First Mid Atlantic, RAH did not buy Mid Atlantic they bought the assets to Mid Atlantic because Mid Atlantic did not exist. I am also a former "Old Shuttle America" Pilot of which at the time we were flying Saabs and no we were not going out of business just downsizing the fleet. Wexford Owned Shuttle out right at the time and sold the Airline to RAH to put the 170's on that certificate until the Republic Certificate was up and running. You may Have voted to Kill Republic but We needed the 3 separate certificates for scope reasons. I am sure things will change in the future but only time will tell.

Yes you are correct. Its been awhile and I forgot some of the Shuttle details. Wexford did own them. Yes, Mid Atlantic was a owned by US Air. We did buy the assets, which is why the staff didn't come with the jets. We needed the certificates to get around the scope with AMR. Or should I say the flying we were doing as TWA express in STL before AMR bought TWA and re-branded it as American Connection.

But crjflyer was incorrect about the alter-ego stuff.

Hope I didn't offend.

I'll concede that some of the CHQ pilots voted in an attempt to kill the alter-ego carrier threat. But don't tell me for one second that the issue of ratifying the contract would aid in growth over other Connection carriers, never came up.... Since you are in year 7 you were most likely already a Cpt. by then and didn't pay attention to the growth side of the equation as much. But rest assured it was there, and brought up in atleast one of the roadshows.

I highly doubt that my buddy would lie about what was said when he called me. And he called my during the road show. Verbatim he told me what he had just heard. He was an FO and was very junior, so for him the thought of accelerated growth and quicker upgrades is what he was more focused on.

And after seven years there I would hope you'd have some decent months of schedule. But we had that and more at Comair until our contract was ripped apart. You may think you had it good but trust me it would have been alot better if you all could have one upped us. And thats all we at Comair wanted was for another carrier to get our +1%... Instead everyone got -1% and dragged us backwards.

"81 hour lines. No junior manning, no real ability to be extended. No hot reserve. Pay isn't that much different from anyone else" We were used to 90+ hr lines with appr. 16 days off, 100% deadhead pay, never got junior manned. And yes the pay was greater. As an FO I was around $41/hr in year 3/4...Captains were topping out around $120 plus 25% for being a check airman.. I know it's only a few dollars here and there, especially in the FO side, but it should have kept going up... NOT BACK DOWN...

And of course I'll believe what I want to because life got a whole bunch worse after your contract was ratified, maybe it was a coincidence, maybe not.

And you'll keep believing that you all got the best you could have,, given 9?11 yadda yadda yadda...

You also had buy-a-job at Comair-remember ? That really "raised the bar" now didn't it ? Talk about "dragged backwards"...
