The devil is in the details. I would be very surprised to see a no furlough clause in this one....
If there isn't instant parity it stands no chance of passing NWA MemRat.
The NWA MEC wouldnt have signed off on it if it didnt have instant parity.
Can someone explain the "parity" that has been mentioned? Are you talking about one group being "on par" with the other right away with regard to pay, or scheduling, or retirement, etc? Just curious.
Thanks,
Q/F
Being gentlemen, I'll be waiting for my NWA co-workers to apologize for all the names they called the Delta pilots and the Delta MEC after LOA19.
Turns out that once again, the Delta MEC spoke the truth about their intentions.
Keeping my fingers crossed that we have a Section 1 that will keep us employed and NWA's 75 hour reserve guarantee.
You know what, there is enough bad news floating around this horse$$t career of ours right now. Save the commentary for later.
This is GOOD news assuming it even has the CHANCE of going to respective pilot groups for a vote.
Just once, I know it is really hard to do, but can you try to look at the bright side instead of trying to be divisive? (Not throwing darts at you, just the entire body of NWA/DAL pilots) We were working toward a joint PWA the whole time. You guys just did what you had to do to protect yourself. It was a little underhanded but in the long run it looks like cooler heads have prevailed. Let's just enjoy it for the time being.
I'm interested to see the details...
Mo money? Mo betta work rules?
9% dc, 2% 401K
LOA 19 Brought the DC to 11% this would make it 13% DC 2% 401K and if LOA 19 was preserved we are looking at an option of 2% more, 1 each the last two years of the agreement. (15% DC and 2% 401K for a total of 17% in to a retirement plan) not bad if true.
What's the difference between the DC and the 401k contribution?
The DC is the pension replacement and the 401k is what is offered to all Delta employees
Are they both fully vested in the pilot's name?
Yes
Also, does LOA 19 specify how the equity will be paid out, ie into the retirement plan?
Yes the money is split into two groups. The first group will be divided evenly among the pilots. The second group is allocated based on seniority. It is to be deposited to the extent allowed by the IRS into your 401K to avoid taxes the rest will come to you as cash
This would be a huge improvement for the junior NWA guys, as we're currently at 6% contribution to the 401k.
