Any conclusion that this was anything but a complete loss for the RJDC is pure fantasy!!!

I remember listening to "cocky" COMAIR pilots riding on our jumpseat in 2003 or 2004 telling us that RJ200 pilot's stood to receive $3000-$5000 compensation each from ALPA. This was after we kicked in our "after-tax" dollars each pay-check to help with the Comair strike benefits in 2001. What a bunch of Ass@#$#'s

PLEASE!!!

There is a reason the SCOPE CLAUSE is the first paragraph of any UNION contract. It is more important than any part of the contract that follows period...

If you don't have ironclad scope than what's the point of any other part of the contract!!!

The Comair guys figured this out after Delta started "farming-out" the traditional Comair flying to a variety of other commuter carriers after their strike in 2001.

All scheduled jets no matter what size should have been on mainline seniority list!

What a waste of time and $$$ and for what??? soon Comair will be shut down...CVG closed as DAL base...and in ten years new hires I fly with will not even know Comair existed!!!

Spoken like a true A$$hole...

Flyer1015??? What? ummm Huh?

and Stratus...Stratus....

Who's the a$$h0l* Stratus? Me??? NO...I think it's the idiots with the lawsuit against the Delta Pilot group. Trying to get money from the Delta Pilot group after we kicked in thousands of $$$ in assessments to help the Comair guys during their strike.

We've beat this issue of regional flying mainline time to death, no sense dragging the issue up again except to say this proves you guys were wrong all along. The RJDC judgement speaks volumes about scope and the DAL Pilot group's right to enforce it.

Dan Ford sought a cash settlement!... That would have been a victory for him. What did he get? ZERO $$$ and some useless paragraphs of legal verbage that basically said the RJDC lawsuit was frivolous, trivial, silly and a complete waste of the Delta Pilot groups time and $$$. Money that could have been used for more worthwhile projects like fighting Open Skies or the TSA...

btw What ever happened to that guy that used to post the drivel about the RJ Armada about to take over the world? Where's that boy now?

rjdc a failure? BF surprise!
Most of those guys have dui's, no college, shabby flight training records, and could't get hired anywhere. A lot of them post on this very forum. They tried a seniority snag, and a monetary lawsuit that got them nothing.
In the end, the only bad side was that ALPA had to pay some of their legal bills.
Really, the only one who made out in the deal was Haber. He loves Dan the ***********!

Maybe nothing illegal was done.........

ALPA created a two tier system. The older generation trying to use the younger generation as a way to subsidize their failing airlines or their compensation package which could not be supported by a mismanaged company.

NEVER GIVE UP ON SCOPE LADIES!!!!!! But let me guess that red neck Jar head Lee Moat (or whatever his name is) will give in to releasing more 70 seater scope and the likes, so the younger generation of pilots can be stuck as contractors with no hope of career progression. NICE. Like I said ALPA's action may not have been illegal but they sure weren't ethical or moral. We need to think of others and stop thinking only of ourselves - NOW THAT's being a UNION!!!!!!

But they did win. Now they have a committee!

Your first post was slamming Comair pilots. I used to work there and I assure you 95% of the pilots, inlcuding myself, had no part in the lawsuit. We were also extremely gratefull for the alpa strike benefits that you and others privided us during our 89 days on the street. Read your first post again. You came across like a...well, you know..prick!. Yeah, who cares if Comair might be going away and thousands of people lose their jobs...you'd like that. You make it sound as if all your Comair JS were money hungry, misinformed, Delta envious losers. By the way, the Delta pilot group doesn't exactly have a stellar reputation in the industry. You know, the whole entitled thing, above others, etc... Yet, we aren't on here frothing from the mouth and bashing your group. Do yourself a favor, unbutton that double breasted suit jacket, take a deep breath and act like an adult and the professional you're suppossed to be.

I can't say how it is now, but when i was hired on years ago, most of us had four plus years of college, no dui's, perfect training records, etc. we just couldn't go straight to a major because we had to build time and get experience. I certainly never expected nor wanted to be tacked on to the bottom of your list. Nor did the majority of people I knew. You're taking a small lawsuit loving group of people and projecting their actions on the comar pilot group as a whole. I can't imagine those hired in the past few years even know much about the lawsuit, strike, etc. Again, I personally appreciate all the benefits we received during the strike. Having said that, if you guys had the balls to go on strike we would have provided you the same benefits...even at our piss ant wages.

scope is everything.

rjdc the way i understand it is a dfr lawsuit b/c alpa tried to enforce it's scope clause.... They had it all wrong-

what they should have done is sue the he!! out of alpa/mainline pilots for not protecting their scope enough.

Stratus,

So Stratus tell me if you guys had won the lawsuit you're telling me you wouldn't have taken the $$$...

Yeah that's what I thought...

How 'bout the other 95% you say were against the lawsuit.

Give me a break. Why the hell didn't you censure the guy from your ALPA? At the very least it would have sent a message that you guys weren't supporting him.

Believe me I know how the DAL pilot group is perceived by the rest of the industry...Some of the bad rep. is bs some deserved...I'll grant you that.

Absolutely correct...

scope is everything.

You got that right!!! The second Air Wisconsin and Business Express or ASA started flying the BAE 146's with the mainline paint job there should have been an uproar from the respective mainline pilot groups and ALPA national!!!!

This was a little before my time...What the %^&* were those mainline guys thinking? Their inaction has decimated our profession.

Anyone...anyone...

Here's one for you, if you don't like RJ pilots flying big airplanes, STOP GIVING AWAY SCOPE!!! Until then you just sound like the typical Delta AS$ clown that we all know you are.

Maybe I'm not getting my point across completely. There should be no RJ pilot vs. mainline pilot debate. WE should all be mainline pilots....you included.

Like Robert Crandall...I have always been against code-sharing in any form.

It is really just as simple as this post makes it out to be. If we would draw a "real no s**t" line in the sand on scope and walk out if it were crossed, this stupid debate could once and for all be concluded. I get so sick and tired of my Delta bros. bitching about scope and they continue to vote yes for LOAs that relax it.
