Furloughing 700 guys is better than closing the doors and putting everyone on the street... but I guess you guys have already made your decision... Hope it works out for you guys, but not looking good..

Not when SKW can bid on the remainder of the flying that XJT does for CAL only 12 months later and in essence "closing the doors and putting everyone on the street." Oh wait, not on the street since SKW will offer preferential interviews to the furloughed XJT pilots.

Too bad the same cannot be said of the pilots it fires instead.

Also, the deal SKW had for XJT, they would have furloughed over 700 pilots immediately while at the same time taking 29 of XJT's aircraft and give the furloughees preferential interviews at SKW.

Like I said, Skywest is in business and makes good business decisions. Yeah, it really sucks that xjt's management screwed things over so bad that furloughs or a loss of flying might happen. But that's not Skywest managements fault and it's not the pilots fault. It's xjt's fault.

Yes, but that doesn't invalidate anything else I have said. I was just making the point that if this deal goes through the 35 year history you talk about would have been out the door. I was just giving you a hard time.

I think the only thing keeping the Branded flying from being successful is the fuel prices even though XJT is some hedges.
