Word from some friends on the line is that they still plan on running some classes in the fall...I wouldn't bet on it though!

Keep the faith!!!

Does anyone know if there is any seniority in the pool? For example, if you were in the first class cancelled do they call those people first?

I was hired in Sept 01...then called to reinterview August 07 (didn't go back -but it was nice they remembered).....so yes, you will see class someday..but probably somewhere else....

I think there is some sort of seniority system in place-- was for the may 5 class and the HR guy said I was in the "top 20" of the 65 or so...for whenever/ if ever? Anyone have a clue as to IF we are even going to be called as NWA poolies- and not just bypassed to everything delta? I was thinking about getting some jet time at another cargo or somewhat lateral move to another regional.. anyone know about compass? i know its part of NWA but if NWA never calls me back...

I was told it was based on scheduled class date. He told me I was top 15 in the pool but that was before the april class got canceled.

If you switch to compass then I would suspect you are out of the pool.

I second that. If you're in the pool, going to compass would kill any sort of chance RIGHT now of making it to NWA.

But don't you get a number at Compass?

Yes and No. After 36 months at Compass you are eligible for a number but that only comes to fruition when you manage to get hired by NWA. For instance, if you worked at Compass for 10 years and then finally got hired at NWA, your number would start then, not seven years prior.

has anyone in the pool found out if a "number" in the pool at NWA means anything once and if classes start, considering DAL is going to be the result. i.e. Do those in the pool think or know if we will need to re-apply to the merged carrier?

I "think" the training departments will remain separate long enough for most of the NWA poolies to get in under NWA training. Of course, that's just my opinion and it is based off of NOT parking more planes than already scheduled. I also think delta would honor the NWA pool if they start hiring again, but who knows

I disagree with you. I "think" these poolies will never get called. After the merger is finallized, Delta might give them a preferential interview, but I do not think these pilots will ever get called without re-interviewing. It would benefit me more to have them go to class so I hope you are right.

I asked my LEC rep what he thought about the poolies, because I have a close friend that failed the HR at DAL and then was hired and is swimming for NWA. His thoughts were that the poolies would be given a pool "date" according to the day of interview, and placed in the DAL pool on the day of Corporate Closure. He mentioned that the names would most likely be checked against the DAL list of ineligible for hire (for failing the HR portion of a DAL interview), if they were on that list they would be s.o.l. for DAL new-hire class.

So if you are trying to get in the back door of DAL, I guess hope for a NWA class date, or that the merger is consumated ASAP.

Hope this helps, JP ...please post if someone has heard anything likewise.
