Hey Marty,

I was wrong. I thought ALPA would win.

You were right, UscabA won. You're a winner Marty.

So what's the plan...how are you going to convince 7000+ United pilots to join USAPA? How are you going to prevent the Nicolau award from being used as the US Airways list for integration purposes?

Seriuosly, educate me oh wise one.

Still got your yellow lanyard on? Wearing it with pride?

What's the plan....

PosRate,

I've won a lot of battles, just not too many in aviation! And that's just fine with me. Real life is happening while you sit here and hurl insulting babble at people you don't even know (but you sure act like you know.....lame!)

For what it's worth, you sound absolutely panicked. Stop acting like such a wuss.

Word is that they are drafting a side agreement that you have to be in good standing to be included in a merger of seniority lists. No scabs and no non union members will be included in our merger list if things go as planned. Subject to member ratification. I hope that this rumour is true. There is a new dog in the house and it will be a real Union.
Not like SCALPA.

Good luck with that one. No surprise to see you crafting another outlandish reality to believe and embrace.

I can't tell if you're joking or serious, either way its hilarious.

Dear Capt. Bradford,

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on doing something that I have been hoping would happen for the past 30 years, and that is....getting rid of the ALPA curse!

As I prepare to celebrate my 30th anniversary (April 26th, 1978 - April 26th, 2008) with this company and don the service pin with 3 diamonds, I look back on my career here at the combination of Empire Airlines, Piedmont, USair(ways) and now America West. I am greatly concerned about one last bit of ALPA business that may once again come back to haunt this pilot group, DATE-OF-HIRE seniority.

You may or may not remember how ALPA, during a push to unionize smaller airlines during the mid 1980s, was allowed, even encouraged, to make an example of the Empire Airlines pilots. To show what would happen if an ALPA carrier bought you and you were not ALPA, the pilots of Empire Airlines were stripped of their rightful place on a date-of-hire seniority list, and placed BELOW pilots that had not even started training...........sound familiar? I lost 7 years of seniority. I have been punished for the past 25 years. I have been denied the ability to bid holidays off, my choice of schedules, my chance of advancement.

What am I asking you to look at and consider? Just like that time long ago when ALPA failed to abide by a date-of-hire merger policy, and just as USAPA has professed to truly support and demand a date-of-hire integration, I ask that USAPA immediately place ALL Empire pilots (or any other group) in their true positions on our USAirways SENIORITY list so that if and when ALPA returns in one demon form or another (a merger?), USAPA will be able to hold it's head high and state with the utmost truthfulness, that we are, in fact, a DATE-OF-HIRE airline?

I am not asking for a windfall. I have paid the price for 25 years (A loss of about 2.5 million dollars just in DIFFERENCE in PAY). I am just asking that I be able to use my 30 years here to exercise my seniority just like any other pilot on our list. DATE-OF-HIRE is DATE-OF HIRE!!! There can not be any exceptions.....because 'EXCEPTIONS' were what ALPA was all about!

We are now the IN HOUSE UNION....just like Empire Airlines Pilots Association was.............when ALPA shows up again.....are we as USAPA pilots prepared to go to the BOTTOM of the list as Empire did so that ALPA can show, once again, what happens to pilots that defy ALPA's will?

Conditions, restrictions??? If you must...........but put my name and those of my fellow Empire pilot's on the seniority list where they always should have been, according to their DATE-OF-HIRE!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Ronald xxxxxxx

I think it was Ben Franklin who was quoted as saying
"Everyone was born ignorant. But one must work hard to remain stupid." If that's the case, then all I gotta say is ol' Ronald XXXXX must have been working overtime !!

PHXFLYR:cool:

Don't forget gov't and management! :)
OK, along with alpa then we can cure them as well.

Who should go back? USAPA? I don't think they are advertising such an impossible task.

Recall, with USAPA you can't fix stupid... and that is just talking about East/West..
Well I think it would have to be usapa

Are you serious? Have you tried the website? Email?
Did not know that they had one.

no matter the paint job! Yeah! Let's make managment pay for it!

That is like buying a tool at Home Depot and expecting Lowes to accept it within their return policy!
Well no it is nothing like that....once you stop identifying yourself with a company and start identifying yourself with a union it will make sense.

No... actually... its just...not quite the same...
Stop assuming that as a pilot you somehow are more special than anyone else in any other trade because you are not.

If you build it ...... they will come?
Then lets get going.

Who is you? Me? Them? They?
Not going to bother. it was late.

Air Line Pilots Do Not Run Airlines!

Air Line Pilots Do Not Regulate!

Serious conflict of intrest and safety creditibility issues!!
Do you think that the type rating that I got from a guy who works for my airline is somehow not a conflict of interest.......The FAA does not issue type ratings anymore, the airlines do......less conflict of interest if the union was doing it then the company

I have a headace
try tylenol

Agreed! I think!
Maybe I should have included you as well.

Not a Hollywood style, one shot, one stroke, one hit solves all problems! And we lived happily ever after?
We are talking about a generation long journey here. You and I would most likely never see all the benefits of this new union.....

This might have to happen.
The union would negotiate pay rates, retirement contributions and insurance contributions with the ATA or whatever representative body they would use

But it doesn't.... every airline has different cost structures.
You are correct. Right now it does not and that is the problem. But it should all pay the same. And as far as different cost structures, so does every construction company but they can not use labor to balance that....

But they are not. How about this: If Al Queda was Christian. But they are not.
Construction company:for profit corporation
Airline company :for profit corporation
Al Queida :for profit organization that is attempting to make
their view of their world the
only view through subversion
and terror
Christians : for profit organization that
has been attempting to make
their view of the whole world
the only view through sub-
version and terror for at
least ten thousand years.

There is a guy like you who was in the electricians union... and he thinks we should change to be like the electrician unions.

And the Actors Guild....

And...

And....

Look... we are Air Line Pilots.. under the RLA. There is more working against us then the surface shows...
Ok, lets go with the electricians or the Actors Guild.
Do you realize that none of those groups negotiate at the corporation level...They negotiate at the industry level and so should we....And the RLA may need to go.......

Doesn't sound too convincing...

Not sure how long you've been doing this.... but its been talked about for decades.
At least a decade anyway. If you are wearing a uniform and a name tag you are blue collar and should be proud of that fact.

But if this was so easy... a carpenter could do it!

Well, I know a lot of pilots and most are lousy carpenters.....I know a lot of carpenters and some are excellent pilots.....What is so hard. And what was your point?

don't have to be a lawyer to tell you that is not going to happen...good luck though, and great job reaching out to the west pilots

Hey Positiverate
Everything you have predicted has turned out wrong. Go back and read your posts.
Anyway, Rome was not buildt in a day. USAPA has come a long way in such a few months.

Brothers? We were and never will be brothers. The only other brothers I have right now are my fellow Union brothers in USAPA.

Uhh, yeah....UAL Alpa is going to turn it's backs on the AWA guys who played by the rules, and are currently under assault by a bunch of SENIORITY stealing psuedoscabs so that they can try to claim "DOH" at UAL. Let me guess, you want to know where to pick up your "400 manuals". GMAFB. You can't possibly be that slow....

UAL-ALPA will be banding together with our BROTHERS at AWA-ALPA. USPA-get the stapler out--KARMA is a BEEYOTCH!

I have no idea who Ronald XXXXX is, but using sarcasm to point out this utter hypocracy makes me appreciate his beautiful mind!.

I don't know why this nitwit was allowed to go anonymous this long. His name is Ronald H. DeMarco.
