I'm not too worried. If oil reaches $125/bbl and stays there for a while, that would be the time to worry. Until then, I think everyone is overreacting a little bit.

I think I would be worried...the financials the airlines are coming up with stink! They cover quarters where fuel was only hitting the 100 and 110 marks, and with pretty heavy loads there is still huge $ losses! There are still 2 more days of these reports that willnot only drive those carrier stock values down but they will tend to pull the rest of the sector with em.

Dannica

And how much did we pay Danica Patrick to use her image on the side of one of our airplanes? I am curious as to how much revenue that actually brings in ie advertising like that. Personally I thinks it sucks as I cannot stand that chick.

Right with you there. She is not a good driver. Only took her 50 starts to get a win. I read that Japan was such a haul that several of the "good" drivers didn't even bother to show up.

I would venture a guess that this will be her only win. She is far more concerned about having a conditioner which makes her hair look just right than winning a stinking race.

Personally, I would love to see her try and switch to NASCAR-where the big money is. She would absolutely get her butt handed to her! Different type of racing, but they don't play nice-you can pull lots of stuff on people which doesn't work in open wheel racing. Just ask that idiot who married Ashley Judd. Bet he wishes he stayed where he was...

I am not saying that a woman can't be a good race car driver, but I am saying that when a really good one comes along, she probably will be much more concerned with DRIVING rather than looking like a damn princess all the time!

Huge waste of money for Da Tranny!

This is exactly what I was writing about , Spitfire you were probably one of the people who had to be talked off the ledge after the 1987 stock market crash. PEOPLE it was one quarter, everybody take a deep breath, especially you rainman. It could be a rough year for some, it's a cycle and it will change again. Spitfire your house is on fire, your house is on fire. Wait that's just the fireplace, my bad

Agreed. For now, I'm not too worried. If oil reaches $125/bbl and stays there for a while, that would be the time to worry. Until then, I think everyone is overreacting a little bit.

at this rate we'll see $125 in about 10 days...

That's certainly possible, and if we do, expect a complete industry collapse, followed shortly by a complete economic collapse. Even SWA can't make money with oil above $125/bbl.

Sure it will change... all commodities when they have a fast rise bottom out...the question is how long for the cycle. The difference this time other countries are using and buying these commodities more than the US and this is unprecedented so no one has any idea on the cycle this time. I would rather prepare for the worst and have it not happen instead of the other way around. My house maybe on fire but I carry the insurance to cover it. Airlines cant maintain negative cashflow for a very long period of time, I think 2001 proved this. This time there won't be gov't bailouts and investors are done putting money into bankrupt airlines.

Anyone else smell all the Bad JuJu this idiot is heaping on himself? I wouldn't throw stones at to many airlines these days, champ. We are all in for a world of hurt if things don't change on the oil front.

You may not choose to raise fares yet, but you should really save up for a remedial English class-unless you are a stunted 3rd-grader.

-Bigger they are....

There will always be government bailouts. If you actually believe that the government will allow large airlines to liquidate, then you're nuts.

Like Pan Am and Eastern.
