I've been hearing that rumor for about 2 weeks now, coupled the the word that the loss posted today would be almost double initial estimates (which held up today).Hopefully, it's not a big "we're moving backwards" notice.
And how much did we pay Danica Patrick to use her image on the side of one of our airplanes? I am curious as to how much revenue that actually brings in ie advertising like that. Personally I thinks it sucks as I cannot stand that chick.
Are you saying you'd rather have "Elton John" on the side of your plane????????

I'm sure it's a meeting to quell rumors from the "sky is falling" group of employees. I'm not overly concerned with today's numbers. I, like lear 70 can see where we took some "liberties" with the numbers. The real number is far lower than reported. I'm sure that we will recapture gains from the 1st quarter in the 2nd quarter filings. To all my fellow brothers, I would'nt be reaching for the panic button right now.
I'm not too worried. If oil reaches $125/bbl and stays there for a while, that would be the time to worry. Until then, I think everyone is overreacting a little bit.

Right with you there. She is not a good driver. Only took her 50 starts to get a win. I read that Japan was such a haul that several of the "good" drivers didn't even bother to show up.
I would venture a guess that this will be her only win. She is far more concerned about having a conditioner which makes her hair look just right than winning a stinking race.
Personally, I would love to see her try and switch to NASCAR-where the big money is. She would absolutely get her butt handed to her! Different type of racing, but they don't play nice-you can pull lots of stuff on people which doesn't work in open wheel racing. Just ask that idiot who married Ashley Judd. Bet he wishes he stayed where he was...
I am not saying that a woman can't be a good race car driver, but I am saying that when a really good one comes along, she probably will be much more concerned with DRIVING rather than looking like a damn princess all the time!
Huge waste of money for Da Tranny!
Agreed. For now, I'm not too worried. If oil reaches $125/bbl and stays there for a while, that would be the time to worry. Until then, I think everyone is overreacting a little bit.
at this rate we'll see $125 in about 10 days...![]()
That's certainly possible, and if we do, expect a complete industry collapse, followed shortly by a complete economic collapse. Even SWA can't make money with oil above $125/bbl.
uh yes we can. we just chose not to raise our fares because we dont have to right now. we shall just sit and watch you guys bleed red ink, then maybee we will rais eour prices.
This is exactly what I was writing about , Spitfire you were probably one of the people who had to be talked off the ledge after the 1987 stock market crash. PEOPLE it was one quarter, everybody take a deep breath, especially you rainman. It could be a rough year for some, it's a cycle and it will change again. Spitfire your house is on fire, your house is on fire. Wait that's just the fireplace, my bad

This time there won't be gov't bailouts and investors are done putting money into bankrupt airlines.
There will always be government bailouts. If you actually believe that the government will allow large airlines to liquidate, then you're nuts.
Like Pan Am and Eastern.
This isn't 1991. The government will not allow an airline that employes 50,000 people to liquidate.
Wanna bet?
Yep. What's the wager?
