There's been grumblings of this in other 121 Supplemental uplift outfits for a couple months now. Big push to get extra aircraft added, etc, to take up the slack on the government charters side.

I don't see anyone coming to buy the entire outfit; no one wants the extra debt, they just want to cherry pick the best planes and routes from the ashes which REALLY sucks for the crews.

Best of luck, folks!

As an ATA refugee here at Airtran, I offer my help for anyone interested in working here.

There have been rumors flying around for days of this event coming down the pike. From more rumors it will not have an effect on WOA and NAA. There are some very good folks at ATA and I wish them well.

Does anyone know what this means for World and North American? Got a buddy from a former airline at World.

It probably means more 757s for NAA and a few beat up DC-10s for World. You'll probably see them hiring to fill those positions in the next month or two.

ATA was the best job I've ever had. I've never met a nicer group of people.

Wow! This sucks. Sorry to hear the bad news. I wish you guys all the best, try to keep your heads up. :(

Guys, I can't think of any words that could help. Best of luck seems sort of hollow at this point. Hopefully World and NAA will pick you guys up. I enjoyed flying with you.

My understanding is that this is the entire ATA operation...is that right? Pax service, contract/charter, everything?

Wow, more very bad news. I am sorry to hear about this, and feel for all of the pilots and other employees involved.

How many pilots are on the list at ATA?

Never met an ATA pilot that wasn't a good $h!t. Good luck!

BTW, for 30 years they flew big airplanes into some of the crappiest places on Earth. No bent metal. They set a really good example.

Approximately 700 or so on the list with a bunch more on voluntary or involuntary furloughs. Anyone have a spare will work for food sign?
