Were there mistakes made? Sure....there always are.....Decisions were made after the attacks of 911 based on the intelligence that was available.....Hillary voted for authorization also....
I don't support Hillary. She is just as responsible for this mess as McCain and his buddy Dubya. She will never get my vote.
We have to deal with the current situation....Al Queda and Iran are in Iraq.....and they are a threat to this country.....
The fact that they are in Iraq is not a threat to this country, it's a threat to the people of Iraq. About time that they take care of their own country. We can't afford to do it anymore.

So Al Qaida, Iran, and radical Islam are not a threat to this country? Interesting......How quickly we forget.....

Of course you are supporting a candidate for President that has Muslim leanings and is at least sympathetic to their causes.....

Them being in Iraq is not a threat to this country, no. And as a reminder, none of them were in Iraq until we invaded!

Them existing anywhere in the world is a threat...Radical Islam is a threat....

Yes, but fighting them in the midst of an Iraqi civil war is not an effective way to eliminating radical Islam.

Sorry, JoeMerchant. Iran is a threat just like Iraq had WMDs. If we keep meddling in that country's business, we'll make them a threat. So far, all their president has proven to be is a comedian. But not stupid. Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11, and neither did Iran. The only group Iran is a threat to is homosexuals. They like hanging them there.

And to imply that Obama is sympathetic to terrorists is just ignorant. No offense. The guy gets criticized for being cultured. Muslim leanings? He's a Christian who understands Islam. I think that's a great combination, considering we're involved in conflicts with Muslim countries.

Or you can just vote McCain in, who hates pilots and hates labor unions. Or maybe he's just jealous of pilots who managed not to lose 5 U.S. Navy airplanes. And the last time I checked, our economy is fragile enough not to need another president who, by his own words, isn't very strong when it comes to understanding the economy.

Either way, he's no good for our profession, and staying in Iraq for "100 more years" sure as hell isn't good for America.

Your post is riddled with faulty logic and misrepresentation.

Please provide some facts regarding McCain "losing five Navy airplanes," for starters. If you do some research, you will find how silly that claim is.

I was making a point. And me saying that was a low blow to McCain, but I take what he said about pilots as a personal low blow, so be it. He did in fact lose 5 airplanes. Not all five were his fault, however. Just bad luck? Not in any particular order:

1. Shot down and held as a POW
2. Lost one as he was practicing landings, went into Corpus Christi Bay.
3. Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula.
4. Had a reported flame out (possibly not his fault)
5. A missile was accidentally fired at his airplane on the carrier (not his fault).

So, yes he did lose five. Three of them were with him fully at the controls. One, a flameout, the last, not his fault.

If you have anything different on what I said above, I'll stand corrected. But that's what I've been able to find everywhere I look for his military record.

I respect McCain for what he did and as a POW. I have no respect for him as a politician. And we all know how helpful he's going to be when the airlines are in negotiations again for contracts.

Why is an ATR pilot posting about politics on a thread about NWA class dates?

Now for some useful info...

Talked to a -9 instructor pilot, he said they are backed up on OE and some classes needed to be postponed. Also, more +60 guys are staying than originally thought, temporarily causing need for fewer classes.

The usual summer stoppage in running classes is also a factor. Fall classes should be needed. It sucks to have classes canceled, I wish everyone swimming good luck and hope you are on property soon!

Occam may have more info???

I wonder if the over 60 guys are staying because they want to see what happens with the merger and if they will get the equity or be bought out?
