Because DALPA wanted credit for their a/c options. Options for a/c far less fuel-efficient than the 787 that are much less likely to be exercised than the options on our 787's in a $110/barrel environment.

it's easy to be fuel efficient if you haven't been built yet.

at least the DAL orders are for aircraft that are approved and in production.

do you have an evidence to suggest they won't exercise those options? besides your biased opinion?

Gee, no answers, just more questions. Not surprised. My bad though. I should have known not to feed the troll with substance.

Boeing will be giving NWA 777's that are currently in the desert until the 787's come on.
Snicker now...... watch.

Both airlines(NWA and Delta) will be fine and this is more bs to put pressure on the pilots to come to an agreement to merge.

btw JKE406......are you even a pilot?

maybe you can explain why you should get credit for it, DTW. Apparently Superpilot cannot.

Pardon me for not being on the computer every minute to answer your stupid questions. The 787 are and will be part of the NWA fleet. Just like DAL is getting some 737's and a couple 777's they should be counted also. I answered that previously but you failed to recognize it, what a shocker  The irony is you make fun of tankerclown all the time but you do the exact same thing he does, flamebait. Why don't you worry about getting on with any carrier first then get back to us

By the look of your profile your some high school pot head, good luck with that.

There. Now howzabout you answer the questions I posed to you?;)

A/C far less fuel efficient on order or option? You mean 777LRs? They carry more pax and cargo, and can go as far as the 787 MAYBE will in a few years.

Wow, you are trying to float here but you are sinking fast. How do you know what oil will be priced at in a few years? We might be using shale rock oil by then and our problems will be solved.... Thanks Nostrodamas.

Richard Anderson supposedly said we will be getting 40 777LRs, thanks to our 738 options that can be converted to 777s. You have 18 787s on firm order (with no FIRM delivery date I guess), and 50 on option. Do you have any other airplanes on order besides the 787s? We also will be getting up to 25 total 737-700s.

Hey DTW319,

What is your opinion on the latest delay of the 787s? We didn't make this up, it happened on it's own. You must be dissappointed. JKE does have a point though. How can you expect to get credit on a future plane that hasn't been built or flown yet for SLI? I think we may order Space Shuttles EVENTUALLY, and I think only our pilots should fly them, when they come between the years of 2033 and 2045. I am almost pretty sure that we will be ordering some, and it was MY UNDERSTANDING as a newhire back in '96 that I WOULD BE FLYING LEFT SEAT TO THE MOON IN A SPACE SHUTTLE BEFORE I RETIRED AT 65(I knew the age change would happen back then too---sure I did). You have to give me credit for that in arbitration darn it!!

I call BS!

I get to read DLnet as well as your annual report. Give me a break. 40 777's, 20 something 737's. Really, please give me a source. Here is mine....
Seems you have more CRJ's on order again than anything else. Maybe you can upgrade......

Our purchase commitments (firm orders) for aircraft as of December 31,
2007 are shown in the tables below:

Delivery in Calendar Years Ending
-----------------------------------
Aircraft on Firm Order (1) 2008 2009 2010 Total
---------------------------------------------------------------------
B737-700 7 3 -- 10
B737-800 -- -- 2 2 (2)
B777-200LR 3 5 -- 8
CRJ900 13 5 -- 18 (3)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Total 23 13 2 38
=====================================================================

(1) In addition to these aircraft, Delta will lease four B757-200ER
aircraft beginning in the first quarter of 2008.

(2) Excludes 38 aircraft, which we have entered into definitive
agreements to sell to third parties immediately following delivery
of these aircraft to us by the manufacturer.

(3) Excludes 16 aircraft orders we assigned to a regional air carrier
in April 2007.
Note 1: The following tables show reconciliations of certain financial measures. The reasons Delta uses these measures are described below.

Hey, come on man....don't spoil Generally's Fantasy Fleet league. He needs the hobby.

I also really think you will keep all of your DC9s, forever. Yeah, that will be true.

As far as 738s go, have you looked at the options? We supposedly have a deal to trade up for 777s if we wanted. Maybe you can get some too for all of those 787s you won't be getting anytime soon?

General,FDJD,JKE46, etc. I posted honest questions about the comparisons on the Delta Cuts thread, and so far none of you have replied. Please go read the post and give a non-emotional answer. Thanks, and good luck to us all.

Oh, now it's "supposedly" ! Didn't you just chastise someone for using the words Assure and Probably in reference to the same thing?

Just Hilarious. Pathetic...but Hilarious:D

Actually, it's all good at the rate of inflation, by 2011 those planes will basically be free.

I think that would be impossible to do. They keep repeating that the 787 is delayed, as if the NWA pilots have anything to do with it. blah blah blah..sounds like a broken record. Is Richard Anderson any better than Steenland?..he comes across to people better and has better teeth. Thats about it.
