I find this to be a very interesting website in consideration of all the posts in support of 1108.

Please explain all of this to me because I had the understanding that all was peachy keen at NJ and everybody was happy with 1108 representation.

We are very happy with the representation.

The work of 1108 is completely internal; we get nothing of substance from the Teamsters organization itself.

Since we do all the legwork, and pay 100% the bills, it doesn't make any sense at all to send 25% of the membership dues to an organization that provides no return on that money. It can be put to better use.

To put it simply, we're cutting out what basically amounts to a "franchise fee."

Wow... just like that. It's just that easy, eh?

Looks to me like cannibalization.

Yea, nevermind all the money the Teamsters spent on the original organization campaign for 1108. The benefit is strength in numbers. Teamsters are everywhere and not just 1108 Teamsters and they won't provide services to NJ if it means crossing a picket line. I'd prefer that to standing on an island with an in-house union. Just my opinion.
