right up until they layoff...

NWA has 90 Dc-9s dal wont need 900 pilots when they get rid of the 9s

FWIW, some of the ALPA reps said this week during crew room visits that DAL actually wanted to keep the 9's and possibly park less than what NWA was planning on parking. This is because they feel they can use the paid off 9's as the 100 seat jet they have been looking for until the next gen Boeing stuff comes out in a few more years.

Actually NWA is planning on parking a number of 9's and will be down to about 64 by years end. We're still hiring, DAL and NWA are both short. Sounds like you're upset DAL never call you for an interview.

Just to clarify it will be 68 not 64. ;) NWA's current hiring is based off of the -9 reductions already. So mr.XPPILOT is wrong and should probably stay over on the corporate or frax threads.

Look like the hiring will continue either way. Probably more if we merge. FWIW

Wonder if that means that NWA + DAL will hire more pilots than NWA - DAL ~ or ~ if a merger happens all pilots hired will be DAL pilots by definition.

Hey, look at it this way, NYC MD88 will no longer be the junior bid choice.

Never applied...Happy were I be..thxs

I did not post that to start a flame. heard from a number of DAL guys that it might happen...I hope it doesn't...I never want to see guys on the street..

EMB 145/145.....maybe you should stay on the regional side and try to figure out why you guys bring down the industry...

That's Emb 135/145 and now DC9. And i am no longer at a regional but thanks for your concern. From your profile I would venture to say i have more of a reason to be on the 121 threads then yourself, nice try.

People....

If they park the 9's.....furloughs will occur.....plain and simple.....I think the numbers we have will support the reduced flying that will occur when the block hours are cut back on ALL flying the way oil is.......they would rather cancel and slow down then actually fly the flights.....

As rough as it is.....that's the reality IF or IF NO merger....at both companies

I like the DC9 rumor about them paid off and parking the 50 seat stuff.....I hope that's the case
