I'm sorry to bring this back up, but I'm sure it would get lost in other threads. Does anyone have any information on QOL at Citation Shares. I've seen the new pay rates, but how is vacation, benefits, 401k etc. Also are the 7/7 schedules hard or is there a tendency to make you fly over a day? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where do you work now corp or 121. Because some of the 121 guys don't like the 7 on, but 7 off is nice. Yes they do at times fly you an extra day.

QOL is a subjective matter. For the most part, I think it's pretty good. There is certainly room for improvement, but you could do much worse.

Vacation is one of those areas that could improve. You start with one week and don't get two until year 5. I'd like to see that change.

Benefits are average. They stink compared to NJA, but so do 99% of non-government jobs. It is very rare these days to not pay insurance premiums and NJA is the exception, not the rule. That being said, I wish ours were lower, but again, they're not out of line with the national average.

IMHO our 401k is great. We get maximum match with minimum contribution which frees up money for outside investments (if you do that), or for whatever else. It's extremely adventageous for younger guys with families who could not afford to contribute more to begin with. Not so much so for guys who contribute the max each year.

For me, the 7/7 has been pretty hard. I've come home after midnight once, and after 16 hours a few times (you get a day of OT for that) but never been held out involuntarily to fly another day. In fact, about 1 out of ever 5 trips I don't get called for the first day or two, and in less than 7 months, I've not been called out for two full tours. That's two three week stints on their dime. Your technically on "home reserve," so you can't travel, but it's always nice being home. On this matter your mileage may vary depending on base and fleet type with a little good/bad luck thrown in.

What is your home base? Would you explain a little more in detail on that 401K please? Thanks

For an apples to apples comparison I'll use NJA's 401k.

NJA: 50% match up to 15%

CS: 100% match up to 6%

If you contribute 6% of your gross at NJA the company matches 50%, or 3% of gross for a total contribution of 9% of gross pay.

At CS, if you contribute 6%, the company matches 100%, or 6% of gross for a total contribution of 12% of gross pay.

In this example, an NJA pilot has to contribute 8% in order to "match" the CS 401k. However, as previously stated, if you can afford or wish to contribute more, the NJA plan will get you more company money. In my opinion the down fall of any 401k is the lack of available investments. All of your investments fall within one fund family (Fidelity at Shares), and within that family, your choices are even fewer. I hold varying outside investments, so for me the CS plan is superior because I can get the max company match with a minimum investment and use the remaining funds for other investments.....or beer.

The 401k is $1 for $1 match up to %6 contribution. The first year salary is $55,510 and lets say you work 10 days of OT ($458*10 = 4,580). OT is now eligble for 401k contributions. One of the many improvements. Considering a first years salary of $60,090 you'll contribute $3654 and the company will match that for a 401k yearly total of $7308.
Along the same lines, perdiem is $2.30/hr or $380 per 7 day tour. I eat and tip well on the road and end up with at least $150 extra or $3600 of tax free money per year. In One year I have enough Hilton honors points for a week stay at nearly any Hilton. The airline points will afford me two free airline tickets.
So in other words if you can't make this pay package work you may have spending problem.

What are "competitive" minimums at CS now?

Has the improved contract spiked applicants, similar to NJ?

How long will they take to respond - I submitted my app on Sunday and fingers crossed.....

Thanks in advance,

FCN

highnpressurize and RCA do you both work for Citations Shares? That information you just gave me was for Citations Shares correct? I see NetJets guys jumping in and talking about NetJets stuff in these forums sometimes and just wanted to make sure this is Citation Shares information you are passing onto me.

What could a first year FO at Citation Shares expect to make the first year now that the new salary is out? I would like to know a rough estimate to include the per diem and any other stuff that might not get posted in these forums often.

Thanks in advance for the information.

The website says you have to live within 2 hours of a base and show proof of residence. Are they strict on this rule? Thanks

Yes, that was CS info.
