And in the Winter many of your flights to LAX will require a fuel stop, or less of a pax load. That doesn't sound profitable.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I've been flying that route for 5 years now and we seem to have gotten a good handle on the fuel problem. Landing with much more reserve than before. Did some adjusting on our performance numbers and things. Of course if we have another winter with those crazy winds like 2006 all bets are off.

Wait, I thought SONG was going to put B6 out of business. Now it's this transcon thingy with AMR that will kill them. Got it.

Hey the Germans are pulling the strings on this one. Its so the Herrs and Fruelins of the world can get to NY and BOS if they fly Berlin to LA first...
Don't give too much slack to Germans..............

You know, we have a saying in my country - "the coyote of the desert likes to eat the heart of the young and the blood drips down to his children for breakfast, lunch and dinner and only the ribs will be broken and this could be the beginning of the end for JetBlue."

We have a saying in the south...get off my porch or I'll shoot you between the eyes.

Oh and jetblue is going out of business, they've just been around for 8 years and put Delta in bankruptcy.

The General is going to blow a gasket at that one!

They put us in BK? Really? Maybe we will return the favor someday...?

You really are stupider than you look. Or maybe you just need to replace your sarcasm filter.

Boys...boys...boys....

Competition is good. It forces us to raise the level of our game. All of you sound like you are afraid of competition. It's what has made this country great.

However, if you can't adapt...it becomes a long, slow, painful elimination

Stupider? You can see me too? Wow. Yes, I do work out. No, I don't go that way. I am married...

You see one Polish U-Boat Commander, you see 'em all.

Funny. Where I grew up we had a similar saying. When I was a small boy, my Father always used to say "You'll never be worth two craps from a crippled sow and now close the door I'm poopin', and it smells like the beginning of the end of JetBlue". I never really got what that meant until the last few years.

Ouch!!! I guess DTW320 might want to read those fleet bulletins a little more carefully.
Ouch! There wasn't one to read. And we didn't make the national news with it like JB apparently. The original comment was about gear stuck down. Didn't the JB 320 nosegear fail to retract? Don't remember, just asking. The NTSB reports are quite a bit different in description of the two.

The two events are pretty much the same thing, Jb's happened where there are always people listening to aviation/police scanners, have helicopters constantly in the air, etc (ala LA) and NWA's happened in Fargo.

I cant remember the exact ECAMs that JB's airplane got but I dont think an attempt was ever made to raise the gear bc of those ECAMs. JBs happened on T/O, whereas it sounds like NWA's happened upon extension. The same thing happened though--airplane landed with gear cocked 90 deg and everyone walked away ok.
