Southwest in the beginning took allot of heat for there COS policy. Its a very touchy subject to say the least. We tried to be nice and let people slide when the flight wasn't full but then you get into the connecting flight issues. You let the COS get on without buying a second seat and 3 legs down the line the flight is full and you have "BIG" problems! ;)

Also sucks trying to make a last minute commute only to find the only open seat left if that "Half of seat!" I have sat in the cockpit on more than one occasion because of this. Not the best seat comfort wise in the house but better than the other option! :)

Now step away from the frig.......................... :D

I just ask the fat person if they don't mind me lifting up a fold or two, and I snuggle under and enjoy a nice warm nap. Its kind of like being back in the womb. It does get kind of sweaty, but it evaporates by the time I have to fly.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.............

I had kind of hoped the other airlines out there got on board with Southwest's policy on this one. Seemed like a "no-brainer" for extra revenue, and I can't think of too many lawsuits that have arisen over it.

Personally, if I were a paying customer (which I am these days), I'd probably have sat down and deliberately STAYED in the aisle. When the F/A came by and said I was obstructing the aisle access and, therefore, in violation of FAR's, they'd have to deal with the issue of "OK, then where do I sit?"

Might get booted, which should get you a nice ticket to compensate for being denied the seat you paid for because they don't have an appropriate COS policy in place.

Ever notice that it always seems to be DAL and NWA that have these issues publicized? I wonder if it's just that many more issues on those two airlines or if the people writing the articles just hate those airlines.

"Jack and Jill went up the hill, each with a buck and a quarter - Jill came down with $2.50"

-Dice.

"That hoor!" -Dice:D But on a serious note, I always put the armrest down. Even if I have to put all my weight on it. I smile and politely say, " the armrest has to go down so we can each have the space we paid for." I get dirty looks, but so far not one POS (umm, person? of size) has done more than that. I think most are embarassed that they have let themselves go to this point and they don't want to call attention to the issue.

"We" don't fly airplanes.

I fly airplanes. You are in management.

Why do you have to be such a giant tool? You're a smart guy, and have great info on NWA, but then you gotta go being a jerk off. Can't we all just get along? BTW, I puked in the back of one of your -9s before because your Flying of Airplanes, sucks..........or maybe it was the smell, heat, and constant jolting, and waiting at the gate for 35 minutes for a spot to park. Thanks for the ride! Maybe if you consolidated all those Saabs and CR2s into like EMB175s and 190s, you wouldn't make people have to wait to get off your rickety old silver paint fixer upers.

How is he a tool for pointing out that yip is a management drone?

Come on PCL... I expected more from you. Just because someone disagrees with your political views doesn't make them an idiot.

Besides, your buddy Obama is gonna tax the piss outta us. Maybe not the commuter folk... but anyone making over 50k a year is gonna get taxed more.

The fact that he disagrees isn't what makes him an idiot. Lots of very intelligent people disagree. What makes him an idiot is the fact he makes a post like "your avatar is Obama '08.....nuff said."

Not true. Obama only wants to raise the top marginal rate, which means you'd have to make over $250k in taxable income to see a tax increase. Unless you work at FedEx or UPS in the left seat, then you won't see a tax increase as an air line pilot.

You might want to check your numbers. He wants a tiered increase starting at 50K and hitting 250K and up the hardest.

Plus he wants to increase captial gains taxes.

Gup

As soon as I upgrade I wil make right at $100,000 at Flexjet. My wife makes $180,000 (including bonus) as an SAP consultant. So since I'm not at UPS or FedEx, I won't have to pay? Cool, when did Obama make that promise to pilots? I'm soooo stoked to read your answer! Please provide the quote! :puke:
