Ok, before every one has an orgasm all over their keyboard, lets all wait and read the fine print. The road show will give us some insight but lets not rush into this. We all know what we are going to have to give up right? This is not an easy "YES" vote for me.

Its probably time for you to find another JOB.

Care to enlighten or is this inside laundry?

Fodc8: The job is fine, I just believe the deal is in the details and how the contract is implemented. Its not a done deal yet. Am I happy we have a TA? yes, am ready to sign it before I read it, no! Remember the problems with the last contract and how things were implememted? Lots of questions still need to be answered. If you are ready to sign off on it now, go for it, its your one vote.

Booger,

I really do not have any dirty laundry to air out, I have not seen the TA so I do not know whats in it, only rumors. I don't think giving my opinion on rumors helps anyone. I am happy with the news of a TA and looking forward to reading it when the time comes. Then I hope as group we make an educated decision, not an emotional one.

The details we know are extremely sketchy and often half right at best because we don't know the whole story. Our MEC and Negotiating Comm. will be working on putting together a road show to present the TA to the group some time next week.

FWIW, is it a good deal? Yes. Is it a great deal? No. It's a contract between two sides wanting to get the best for each other. That means some good, some bad, and a zillion ways to get hosed if we're not careful.

P.S.
Thanks to you and other ABXA crew that have posted congratulatory salutations here. So much nicer than the vitriol being spewed over on the Yahoo board. If any of you guys know who "ABX767ABX" is over there, you should report him/her to your Professional Standards people. That person is not representing your group very well.

He does manage to get under our skin, doesn't he? I just need to quit posting and ignore it all.

Congrats to the Astar guys. Hopefully it will be leverage on Hete to get it done.

Sad note though:
$7.9M divided by 500 pilots = <$16,000 per man divided by 5 years = about $3000. Divided by $150,000 salary = 2% per year = Screw job.

TDasburg: "Thanks for the long term, zero interest loan.....but no you pilots won, you got a signing bonus....whoopty-do!!!"

I guess RETRO pay is truly dead at all airlines....and we (ABX) can take plenty of the blame.

As far as the 7.9 mil, don't read too much into this right now. It's still up to the MEC to decide how it's going to be paid out and there are alot of factors to be considered. It's just not a "cut and dry" divide among the pilot group.

And yes, hopefully this will help 1224 position themselves for a fair contract also.
