wasn't that merger supposed to happen last month sometime?

wake me when the liquor store opens.

From the Reuters article...

One of the concerns at Northwest was whether Chief Executive Doug Steenland and his team would retain top management roles. At a meeting on Friday, the Northwest board overruled Steenland's concerns and urged him to renew the talks. Negotiators from both companies went back to work on Monday, the Journal said.

Overruled Steenland's concerns, eh? That's a nice way of putting it.

It probably sounded like this: "Say Doug, how about you play ball with Richard and his boys or we'll shove the bat up your..."

Ok my friend.....lets bet a six pack.....
Which way will it go? Sharksuits or SDB's

either way one of us buys, we get piss drunk, watch the seniorty train wreck and remember the "good old days in ANC"

the mainline pilots and flight attendants might not be screwed as much as the regional pilots are going to be. I see the possibility of a few new bases opening up. Perhaps a joint BOS or SFO. LAX is already Delta, but a NWA/DAL merger would keep LAX for sure. If the headquarters location can be worked out, than the management team issue must have been worked out as well. A high level HR delta employee was walked out of the building, and the position "is not going to be filled" gives a promising sign that managements will be integrated somehow.

Doug, you could take the golden parachute, or get fired. Your choice.

He's a jackass, glad he's getting what he earned.

Ok, Slink,
IF it happens, I bet it will be SDBs. (a pity, as mine seem to have shrunk somewhat in the last dozen years...)
With regards to a seniority lists, I think that the train wreck could be avoided as long as we have some adult supervision.

Look at the bright side: You could get the chance to fly the whale again!

seems unlikely that NWA would shed is two BOS AMS flights. Delta always had ambitions to have transatlantic service out of BOS, and each airline seperately had domiciles there previously. NWA has flights to the far east and hawaii out of SFO, Delta has HNL flights too. It's just speculation but it seems logical, and likely.

I will probably have to sit sideways again on the whale. Then again, I make pretty good coffee!
