That would be reputation with the not-for-profit domestic dirtbag traveler. The international business traveler doesn't know who Continental is.

I think that's 138.

United is a great airline with plenty of great history and a much stronger pilot group than ours when it comes to unionism. You should be proud of your employer, but every survey, customer service award, and all ancillary evidence points to the fact that CAL has a much better product than UAL.

Maybe part of your problem is that you think your customers are dirtbags?

Enlighten us though; what awards has United won recently?

I think we have a great product and would bet that we (cal) have a higher percentage of business travelers. That said, UAL is bigger and has more business travelers. We may go to the most destinations internationally but UAL surely has more Int capacity. Go to NRT and you'll see the difference. Naming would probably be UAL and if smart, the management and business plan would come from CAL.

Agreed....then again CAL management has the airlines/employee best interests at heart no?

Completely agree. With the right management, CAL/UAL could be a force to be reckoned with. I'm not holding my breath, though. I think a pilot group integration based on seniority percentage would be the break even for both groups. Nobody loses any relative seniority but both groups get the benefit of expansion. If we are going to be a family, why not share in sucess and failure together?

My my. Guess I'll be sure to tell my two buddies at Goldman Sachs they don't qualify as 'international business travelers', because they are Plat Elites at lousy Continental. Give me a break bro...

I think in 2003 we won "Most improved light choice chicken cockpit crew meal." Sorry, don't have the link, but I think I read about it in the Yahoo! Finance Major Airline section. But I do remember kicking SWA's a$$ in that particular category. And, I think an arbitrator will take that into consideration in the case of consolidation between UA and any other airline.

Completely agree. There is a lot of talent between the two pilot groups. The potential is indeed there to kick a lot of backside ref other combined airlines. However as the first post said cart before the horse currently.. We will just have to obviously wait and see.

Be close to the descent for the tuna, sometimes it can be "explosive" if its been sitting out. ;)
