Just another major problem around here: When you finally upgrade to captain after putting up with those unethical FO wages guess what... THEY DONT PAY YOU! There have been several new captains not getting their captain pay for over a month!! Sometimes longer. When you email or call the company they just ignore you. This company could care less about its employees. Just think before you come here. There are much better regionals out there.

WSurf, I agree. The pilots should be paying Repubic to fly a big cool jet!

Haha! Nice company. The pay sucks then when you finally upgrade your still getting FO pay. Not that the captain pay is all that.

Are you serious? RPA is hiring flight instructors and poaching MESA and PDT pilots right now. You think they care about a payroll boondoggle?

If you haven't got paid, you're calling the wrong people. I would call the DO everyday. Read your contract. They have to get it to you ASAP, like FedEx. Don't be satified with the next pay cycle.

I'm not trying to defend the tardiness, but it must be noted that I have not heard of anyone not getting the money at least retro-actively. Usually it is a paperwork issue held up in the CP's office until it gets signed. The money that is not paid on the effective date or completion of OE has been paid in lump sum to the individuals once the paperwork is done. I understand the frustration though, with an effective date, you would think it could go into effect automatically like any longevity raise.
As far as the pay is concerned, sure it could be better, but having worked for Mesaba in the past, I can say that the pay here is a wash over the first two years, and CA pay on the crj9 vs e175 is much more in favor of RW. Even the Avro (in pre-bankruptcy days) had similar pay scales to the 175. I never heard anyone bash the contract at XJ before the fiasco.

You must look like Milton in "Office Space" bouncing between payroll and Lumburgh trying to find out why you haven't received your paycheck and wanting your stapler back.

....and?? I go through that every 1st and 15th at mesa :-)

Its an easy fix....the next time you are on the airplane about to push back, call up bart. "Uh hey bart, this is so and so.....i'm ready to push from the gate but wanted to let you know I'm not moving this airplane until I hear that my payroll issue is taken care of. I can wait on hold while you take care of this. Thank you."

Tell them you are not working again until you get paid!! I have a friend who works there and heard of a many new captains not getting the pay either. When they emailed the company nobody responded

You ex-CHQ pilots pretending to know what's up. Bart is not chief pilot anymore. Tim is.

Unfortunately the Process goes though a chain of command for approval. I am not defending the tardiness but it is a fact. I waited 1 month to get my 1ST paycheck at Captains pay. You will get your retro-pay not to worry!! Yes the process should not take as long as it does and needs vast improvement. Call the D.O. as other people on this thread have suggested and perhaps send a email to follow up.

As much as I would like to encourage you to walk off the job, I would not recommend it! Again I repeat you will get your retro pay. The Company is "NOT" trying to target you specifically and with hold your earnings just because. People are just so over worked and we are structurally very understaffed. It's tough for them to keep up with the all the upgrades. When you have 4-5 people in the approval process it delays things drastically. That is a poor excuse but it is a fact. Give it another pay period and see what happens. If nothing is taken care of, then Call the D.O. or chief Pilot again.

Good luck!!

If you use an email address like AOL or Yahoo, it may get caught up in the spam blockers. I never used to get emails returned until I tried to send in a medical via my AOL email and they kept saying they never got it. From then on, I used my company email account and they've answered every email within a day.

I'd go to the DO also. last year had several pay issues and when i went to the CP or DO they were taken care of.

I currently have one pay issue and another issue with the payroll dept. I have sent JE 2 emails ans left 2 messages and have not been called/emailed back. If i don't hear by 12pm tomorrow I will fwd it to the DO.

Unfortunately payroll does not have the authority or access for that matter to change what is in ultipro. HR and the higher ups do. Payroll is only following what they have in the system. Call the DO and he will make a few hurry up phone calls. Things will get taken care off.!!

The way the process starts is this. When you complete IOE, the DO or Chief Pilot puts though your upgrade and sends it off through the approval process. That is what takes the longest unfortunately. Hopefully when when we get our infrastructure beefed up this process will improve.

All you need do is cc a copy of your e-mail to BB.You'll get two e-mails back in 5 minutes. No,this is not a joke. One of our union guys told me this a few years ago and it works .And yes,my jet is shiny and "puffy".

Im not condoning anything, and I hate lazy and broken management/HR systems, but if all you did was email and nothing happened. Grow a pair and pick up the phone and actually call someone. And if they don't answer, call someone else.

Quit wasting time posting this here and working instead on getting your money.

Just another worthless thread on FI.

Why would you work another day until they straightened out your pay? Must be that big fluffy jet!

Because mistakes happen everywhere. Not really the mark of professional to throw a temper-tantrum if you know what I mean? Pull that crap in the real world (like a real job) and you'll be hitting the bricks.

Another way is to send your DO an e-mail notifing him that your filing a grievance concerning the issue. I had a problem that went on for two months. Sent that to S.D. had four replies and everything settled inside 15 mins.

At a real company this wouldnt happen. There is absolutly NO excuse for not paying your employees. I understand mistakes, but they should be taken care of ASAP. 1 month?? Its called stealing. What happens if you dont pay the IRS for one month?? Just tell them you made a mistake? I dont think so. Please dont defend the lousy managment of this company.

Holy crap! Over a month, I stand corrected. I just re-read the initial post. CA's should get interest on their paycheck.

We are just understaffed and when you add 4-5 people into the approval process you delay the out come. Yes you should start getting Captains pay immediately after IOE but that is not how things are set up at this time unfortunately. That process should be changed and perhaps they are working on it.

I am not defending bad management I am just stating Facts. Your not the only person to go though this. Relax you will get your retro pay!!! The Company is not steeling from you nor are they with-holding your pay!!

Yes Pay is a sensitive issue and heaven forbid that there be a mistake or a crappy process to get your raise. Sometimes you have to look at the variables involved. Chill Man, contact the Vito's in charge and things will get taken care of. Sometimes you have to make a pest of youself. I sent 1 email and made 1 phone call and it was taken care of.

I had this problem a few years ago when I upgraded. I had about a week off and called scheduling--"I should have gotten my Captain pay about a month ago, just so you know I will not be able to fly until this issue is resolved." Got transferred a few times to a few payroll people and then got a Fed-Ex a couple days later with my check. I also remember a line in the contract that says something about the company owing you $100 if a payroll issue is not resolved within 5 days of it being brought to their attention.
