Does anyone know if the United 747 parked next to AF One in Kuwait is the White House Press Corp., or is that what they use for the IAD flight now?

No they don't typically, because we do a lot of the domestic charters for the Press.

They normally use the 777's for the press-corp trips. There are 7 777's currently offline due to lack of parts, so they could be using the 747.

Don't just the "pool" reporters ride on AF-1? Just those few who are chosen for every trip. Sometimes it is ABC, CNN FOX BBC or MSNBC reporters.

The agreement is that they muct share their stories with the rest of the White House PRess Corps.

However, on a trip this big....more reporters come along...hence the B-747.

Wow, that's incredible! Seven 777s out of service? No wonder airlines are having trouble making money. It's hard to make money if you don't fly.

Well, I should have added that we did most of ours in the good 'ole lower 48... But I figured that the experience in here would have known that the 72' wasn't making it across the pond this day in age... I'll make sure to clarify next time...

And the one that is out of service was the "Peter Max" airplane that is getting a new paint job and a heavy check.

I am thrilled that I wont have to look at that thing any more!

Maybe the United guys/gals might like that. Better pay, free medical/dental/vision, 50% retirement pension after 20 years--plus a free 120 day vacation to an exotic location every couple of years! :laugh:
