BTW starbucks has no UNION. It is about the individuals performance. Great concept.

Companies get unions because they mistreat, abuse, or grossly underpay their employees. Starbucks doesn't do that, hence no union.

Taking care of your people: Great concept.

This is how a market economy should and does work.
Hence, when your Union does not perform I should have the option to get out. But like most corrupt undemocratic organization you only can leave dead. Can you say mafia. Quit my job ---- are you joking what a f@@@ up idea. When in really I would be happy to pay if this UNION would perform, when it fails I should have to right to stop. Just like employees have the right to organize I should have the right to withhold my financial support. That is the way the market should work. I should have this right.

ALPA isn't the problem. Prater is the problem. The age limit would still be 60 tonight if Duane had been reelected last October. Don't misplace your anger. That's what led to this whole problem in the first place. The membership misplaced their anger about the years after 9/11 and blamed Duane Woerth, so they got him booted out and replaced him with this dimwit Prater. Now look what's happened!!! Misplaced anger has led to serious consequences, and now you're talking about more misplaced anger. ALPA didn't cause this problem, Prater did. Anyone who has been paying attention for the last year can easily see that. You want to fix the problem? Get rid of Prater.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..........

Sorry, I feel better now. I still like Prater. Do you think for a moment he just went crazy and did this on his own? What kind of crack are you on????? That kind of decision isn't made by one man. I don't buy it. It is the entire organization. It is rotten through and through. It starts with the staffers. It's time to mow through them like a lawn mower. Then move on to... Oh never mind, no one has that kind of time and energy to fix the organization.

Just dump ALPA. Burn down the house and rebuild. USAPA here we come!!!

The house of the majority of airline pilots in this nation is built upon a diseased foundation - ALPA.

The "house" needs to be lifted off the broken down foundation so it can be replaced with a proper one.

ALPA has become an embarrassment to the nation and the hard working pilots of this country. It has become self-serving and uses extortion to maintain its income.......this is form of corruption.

What more can one say ?

That needed an encore, BRAVO:beer:

Proceed with dues check-off..........do not send money when statement arrives in mail......after a while they get pissed off and start threatening you......tell them that due to stagnation with this age 65 bullspit, you have a financial hardship and can only afford $10 / month......

.

True, how true. Whoa to the pilot who doth not agree with ma-lord ALPA's favor, lest thee be pummeled seveerly by the damning blows of ma-lord ALPA's brut-squads!

Please sir ALPA! I am but a lowwwly regional pilot, but I desparately desire a mere morsel of the mighty feast that my major breathren amongst your high court of lords enjoy!

Okay, went off on a middle-ages tangent there.

The 1930's ALPA model just doesn't work today with these "shell" airlines.
Why can't a pilots union be along the lines of the American Maritime Officers union.
They control all pay rates , benefits and certification training they have their own simulators. No company gets to wipsaw Captains against another Captain
Who gets hurt when pilots compete with pilots and who wins??

Think about it.

We've thought about it. Now please explain how to make it actually happen.

If you're in a Right to Work state - VA, TX, SD, NC, SC, FL, there are a lot more..(roughly half I think) you don't have to join or pay dues, the details will vary from state to state but generally the idea is that the individual should have the right to choose on whether to join a union or not. These laws are applicable where the company is based, not where you live.

Or you can quit.

Right to Work laws don't apply to workers employed in RLA industries. Thank God.
