Are we doctors? Lawyers? I've never been to court... you?
A goatee is a fad. Long hair and ponytails were too in the 1700's. Ship Captains wore ponytails and errings..
Don't confuse falvor of the month with the right to be an individual within the confines of a choosen profession.
cause it would hurt thier self esteem if they conformed to the image of a profession? Not the Doctor profession. Not the Lawyer profession. Not the Judge profession.
What we are talking about here is the Air Line Pilot Profession.
Cause it looks like you are going to school. If you are going to school then you are a student and not a certified professional of your craft. This of course is all in the eyes of the traveling public. We all know you are a professional when you wear your backpack... but it is about the perception....image is everything... even though it seems to be a chore these days...
Besides... I don't wear my luggage... I pull or carry it.
It's sloppy, man. Details. Sorry, Res.
Unless I'm behind the times, and I usually am, aren't European pilots allowed to have facial hair? If so, are they all considered unprofessional for having beards or goatees?
Are we really that worried about facial hair to think it's unprofessional?
Goatees are the coolest. Wait a second, it IS still 1998, right?
Why is a backpack unprofessional?
Our goatee pilots are cool maaaan. I've heard the male flight attendants here absolutely love them!!!!
I saw a SWA FO with a skateboard strapped to his bag.
I don't care who you are, that's some funny shizzle!Jmoney said:Maybe the GAY FAs love them! Nothing quite says "I'm gay as hell!" quite like growing a facial hair bullseye around one's mouth.......
Money Shot!

ROFL! I just spewed my coffee! If that was the case, I wouldn't be able to stop licking my lips![]()
Never could figure out why a guy would want his mouth to look like a part of a womans anatomy some where down there between her legs.
You can't even relate to pubic hair, let alone facial hair-facials, you're probably current in that category.I think Goatees are pretty cool. It is ok to be an individual.
It says, "I'll have sex with any gay flight attendent, and I'll be on the bottom." Other than that, you are behind the times. Do you think Richard Branson is cute? Stop blushing, boxboy.Unless I'm behind the times, and I usually am, aren't European pilots allowed to have facial hair? If so, are they all considered unprofessional for having beards or goatees? Are we really that worried about facial hair to think it's unprofessional? Wow...

The whole " no facial hair " has nothing to do with looking professional, it had to do with O2 masks....guess what, times have changed just like the O2 masks.
Wasn't there threads about hats and looking professional? Now a lot of airlines are doing away with them. Leather jackets and looking professional? Most airlines have them too.
Supposedly, the earring was to pay for a sailor's burial on land instead of at sea. The ponytail was to aid in pulling an overboard crewmember out of the water.
My O2 mask says, "Beards Will Not Seal" - pretty much says it all.
I don't care what kind of bag the guy totes, but we've got some wannabe Shaggies on the line that think they look good with goatees and long hair. Maybe the new JB union will be able to influence our professional standards down the line.

No name calling, but I do think that this does help lower the bar for pilots (as does the blue shirt).
I also thought that there was some type of restriction with the masks. How does JB get away with that limitation?
Also, do these guys, with go-tees, have any problems jumpseating on other carriers?
