Are we doctors? Lawyers? I've never been to court... you?

A goatee is a fad. Long hair and ponytails were too in the 1700's. Ship Captains wore ponytails and errings..

Don't confuse falvor of the month with the right to be an individual within the confines of a choosen profession.

cause it would hurt thier self esteem if they conformed to the image of a profession? Not the Doctor profession. Not the Lawyer profession. Not the Judge profession.

What we are talking about here is the Air Line Pilot Profession.

Cause it looks like you are going to school. If you are going to school then you are a student and not a certified professional of your craft. This of course is all in the eyes of the traveling public. We all know you are a professional when you wear your backpack... but it is about the perception....image is everything... even though it seems to be a chore these days...

Besides... I don't wear my luggage... I pull or carry it.

I'd say it's more professional to spell the word "earring," "chosen," and "because" correctly.

It's sloppy, man. Details. Sorry, Res.

Unless I'm behind the times, and I usually am, aren't European pilots allowed to have facial hair? If so, are they all considered unprofessional for having beards or goatees? Are we really that worried about facial hair to think it's unprofessional? Wow...

SLC

Not at all! My secret fantasy is look, dress, and smell like a European pilot.

Tres chic!

While we're gittin' our Old World on, maybe we should make French the official language of Air Traffic Control, and encourage our women to grow their 'pit hair long-and-loose!

I'm getting wood just THINKING about it!

Metric altimeters rock!

I gotta give Congressman Mica a call and demand that we change more than Age 60...so we can be just like the French!

"We"?

No.

instructordude thinks it's a good idea...

Goatees are the coolest. Wait a second, it IS still 1998, right?

and mustaches are really 2008? come on get over it, not all goatees are as grunge as shaggy from scooby doo..

just because some of the pilots out there aren't old enough to grow facial hair doesn't mean you should knock those who prefer it

I once flew with a shemale Northwest Captain who had boobs and facial hair!!! Northwest ALPA didn't have a problem with that either. Does he, I mean, she still fly DC-9s out of Detroit???
