1. Are the years given when you talk about NJ pay, longevity years or years in position...in other words, do you start over from "year 1" when you upgrade?

2. What would a conservative upgrade guess be for people getting hired on now?

3. Are you allowed to upgrade onto any aircraft, or are you limited to the aircraft you are currently on (provided you have the seniority)?

4. Also, just curious - Do you get any misc. benefits because NetJets is part of Berkshire Hathaway...discounted life insurance? Free See's candy?

Thanks.

I don't work at NetJets but here's what I think I know:

1. No, you keep longevity. If your an FO for 10 years and then upgrade you're a 10 year CA.

2. Who knows? I think the company line is 4 to 5 years to upgrade. I think it's more but what do I know? I thought Independence Air would work out.

3. You can upgrade into any aircraft. Of course it'll take a bit longer to upgrade into a BBJ as opposed to an Ultra.

4. NetJet pilots pay zero out of pocket for family medical insurance. As far a life goes, I don't know. I do know that Warren Buffet like to keep his companies separate entities. You will, however, get free aircraft training at FlightSafety, another Berkshire Hathaway company.

Hope it helps.

Longevity years. If you're in your 4th year with the company when you upgrade, you'll be moved to 4th-year PIC pay.

I'd honestly plan on 5 years. Might be shorter, but there are a lot of variables.

3. Are you allowed to upgrade onto any aircraft, or are you limited to the aircraft you are currently on (provided you have the seniority)?

You can upgrade into any aircraft your seniority will hold. After your first upgrade, you'll be equipment-locked for 24 months. (If our TA passes this Friday, the seat lock goes to 39 months.)

4. Also, just curious - Do you get any misc. benefits because NetJets is part of Berkshire Hathaway...discounted life insurance? Free See's candy?

Not really, no. We do get no-cost health and dental insurance (through Aetna), and vision insurance (through VSP). That's a very valuable benefit, but it comes specifically from NetJets, not Berkshire Hathaway.

You guys are forgeting the number one reason to work here.... the whopping 8% discount at Gieco Insurance!!! I have no idea why they chose that number but that's what we get. Those that accualy use Gieco that is.

Some of these guys need to go onto the company website more often.

Yes, we do get "company discounts" on clothing, cell phone providers, home/auto insurance, computers, events, sporting goods, food and travel. 68 things are listed, but most are only usable in CMH.

Speaking of cell phone providers, at what point does the company provide its pilots with backberrys?

Hi!

I'm pretty sure at Day 1. Everyone will also get a company AmEx/Hilton. The points are yours.

If the IBB TA passes in a few days then everyone will get issued a COMPANY CREDIT CARD... GE Capitol.

Big difference.

I'm on there plenty. He said "discounts because NetJets is part of Berkshire Hathaway." Aside from the Geico discount, I don't believe any of those discounts have anything to do with BH. They're specifically for NetJets.

That'd be my first hint. :D :D
