...If someone is hired into the CRJ during that year it does not hurt the EMB guy because they are both getting paid the same. There have not been and I do not see in the future, any problems with seat locked EMB new hires getting the first CRJ class after their seat lock.

Not to mention the fact that EMB guys probably are getting paid more the first year because they get paid more hours (less reserve and higher monthly limit) earlier (training shorter) at the same rate.

When an airplane can go coast to coast i hardly think we should be calling it a Regional Jet.
Time for the airlines to cough up some $$$

You all are so naive. Jerry is dangling a carrot. You COULD get the planes beginning in 2/08. But alas, they will "propose" a pay cut to SAPA in January, which will be refused, then the airplanes will come to ASA. Then you'll get a "second chance" in late '08, and a few of the remaining ones will come your way.

You are all new to this game. We've seen it before.

I never said anything about upgrade. I guess I'll go into more detail for you so I don't seem callous to you. If a new hire is in the EMB then they are seat locked for one year. If someone is hired into the CRJ during that year it does not hurt the EMB guy because they are both getting paid the same. There have not been and I do not see in the future, any problems with seat locked EMB new hires getting the first CRJ class after their seat lock.

But what about the 2nd year? When someone goes to the EMB and then has a standing bid in for the CRJ. But the company elects to put a new hire in the CRJ. Is the EMB pilot pay protected? i.e. will they recieve CRJ pay while flying the EMB?

If anything close to this happens, I will personally find you and buy you the biggest bottle of Crown Royal I can find. If it doesn't happen, well I guess your crystal ball may be a little foggy and your just trying to be "funny".

You're on.

It goes in order of seniority. The EMB guy should get the first class date that his/her seniority and base request can hold. There are some EMB FOs that put in for a senior base and are denied CRJ training due to the base being more senior than he/she can hold or if senior enough do not have the pilot slots available for a particular base. If the EMB FO wants any base that is currently being filled (withstanding their seniority) then the EMB FO will get the next CRJ class.

To clarify... 1: The company can if they want to bypass a current pilot and put a new hire in a CRJ. IF that happens if the current pilot pay protected?
2: If the EMB is going away they will freeze seats on it right? Say it takes over a year to get rid of all of them due to a variety of reasons. Take the Bros at ASA. They were going away then they weren't etc. and now the current ATRs. Supposed to be gone a few years ago. So again a senior pilot may not get a CRJ slot that they want but the company will fill it with a new hire. Again pay protection?

We have 59 EMB's right now. We are taking 23 off contract flying and keeping 5 of those on a pro-rate basis. There (for now) will still be 41 EMB's in the fleet.

He's Right...

This is exactly what will happen. They have played Comair and ASA against each other several times in the past. I would not bet against John on this one.

I told you how it works and you still do not like my answer. I cannot argue with "IFs". I guess "IF" monkies fly out of my butt, then my a$$ will hurt.

When the company fills a new class for the RJ, they first look at the Bro FO's that are coming off of their seat lock. They move those people into the class and fill the remainder of the spots with new hires.

As was stated earlier, if the Brasilia FO wants a senior RJ base for his/her transition, he/she may not get the award. He/she is not pay protected if they then hire a new hire into the RJ class, but he/she does move to 2nd year FO pay which pays higher than the new hire FO in the jet.

All you skywest pu$$ies might as well weep in your metrosexual coffee because not one of those jets will be going to Skywest Airlines. Remember you sally's voted down ALPA Jerry knows he has you by the shorthairs.

Let's say, for the sake of the discussion, that you are right. There is really very little ALPA could have done anyway.

And I don't drink coffee. It's too bitter.

True. All of us are "new" to this game. Including huge numbers of Ex-YV pilots who have absolutely no experience from working with a certain CEO and a start-up ironically called "Freedom."

Or the many, many pilots who have come from TSA who have absolutely no experience from a certain episode with some alter-ego(jet) airline.

Or the many Ex-MQers...they know that AMR management was totally on top of their game.

Yeah, we're totally naive

So then I guess the question is.....why make a LATERAL MOVE? I mean with all of your experience....
