Now that all of the info has made it's way to the pilot group, any guesses as to the:
Participation % and the pass/fail %?

I'm guessing 87% participate with a 64% yes, 28% no, and 8% disqualified.
 
IBB is ratified.

- 86% turnout
- 71% yes, 29% no of valid ballots
- 4% of returned ballots get disqualified

I haven't heard from anyone that thinks IBB will fail to be ratified in my unscientific polling.

We'll know next Tuesday.
 
From the outside looking in, I'm guessing 85% turnout and better than 70-30 pass.
 
My guesses:

1. The vote will be counted on the 20th.

2. Some people will vote yes, while others vote no.

Some said we could have "done better". They say this without any knowledge of what transpired in negotiations.

Some don't like issues that affect themselves personally.

Some think they are looking out for the whole group of pilots here by voting know becasue they just "know" that IBB is a bad deal.

Most are just ignorant of the particulars, verbology, transcript intent, etc in the IBB TA and have closed their brains as the result of a normal human psycological reaction to the fear of change.

I can't fault any of the above.

The lazy ones that haven't/won't read the TA prior to voting and won't ask questions of the people who negotiated it... those are the ones I find hard to stomach.

The ones not voting aren't hurting or helping anyone (including themselves). They also don't get bitching rights or the right to claim that they did their part in the process.

I'd rather have an non voter pilot than one who is ignorant and votes anyway.

A pilot who reads, asks, learns and still votes no... I respect 100%.

No, the votes won't be counted until 12/7 now because there were people too lazy to print out the documents from the union website and wanted a hard copy of the TA mailed to them. Since the mail ran slower than expected, the union leadership decided to postpone the vote for 2 1/2 weeks to make sure everyone received their hard copy. As a first year FO, this is costing me $832 in lost pay assuming it passes. Needless to say, I'm not happy about the delay.

Ah, so it turns out to be about YOU, not the 50% of members that didn't get the TA, as promised by the MEC. Some haven't received their ballots. Sorry, you have to wait a few more days.

Yes the vote was delayed until Dec 7Th to assure that ALL pilots had an opportunity to READ a hard copy and make an informed decision. Yes it sucks for all of us planning things out. The NetJets MEC took the high road to insure that everyone had time to read and vote.

Let's make this very, very clear....

SOME PEOPLE HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THEIR BALLOTS.

How can you justify an election when all of those who are eligible are not permitted to exercise their right?

While I agree that the voting process should be respected, how do any of us know if the same USPS that lost or mutilated the ballot envelopes in the delivery process to the members won't lose or mutilate the ballots on the way back to be counted?

In the end, I think the MEC made the right decision in light of the reports of undelivered ballots. But I don't believe that the end result of the vote count would have been any different on 11/20 than it will be on 12/7.

I agree. The results will probably not change but the integrity of the voting process MUST be maintained inorder for us to claim our credibility.

Every dues paying member should at least receive their ballot.

Are we going to lose some money as a result.....YUP.

Oh well.

Agreed.

The MEC made the right decision. Now the question is what will happen to some of the transition language, such as when the domicilers will be able to start using Crew Bases after the vote count.

That seems to be the hot topic right now. My guess is that it will probably happen within a few years.

Being able to vote electronically or via phone would be just one of many perks to separating from the Teamsters.

If IBB passes (I'm assuming it will) I'm betting it happens within the year. ;)

PTO is useless and won't work. H-days work for people, and PTOs cost them 36 known days off.

18 day schedule is horrible. Reservists feel they are losing money since they won't bid this schedule. They lose vacation days.

No annual adjustment to the base pay scales.

No adjustment to per diem.

These are things I don't like. I voted yes.

My guess is that will move to the front burner next year.

This is a PERFECT example of how behind the times IBT is. We have outgrown their system of balloting for sure.

I bet there are many more examples... this is the most recent and obvious to the membership.
